Bryan Danielson is set to miss weeks of action after suffering a fractured forearm at AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door.

After missing last year's event due to an injury, Danielson headlined last night's show in an instant classic with Kazuchika Okada. Walking out to his old ROH theme, Danielson was able to get the victory over Okada via submission.
Danielson's Injury

Speaking on the post-show media scrum, Danielson disclosed his injury which will keep him from competing for the time being.

“I was planning on wrestling on Wednesday this week. I don’t think that’s gonna happen because in this match specifically, we think I fractured my right forearm, with about ten minutes left to go. So yeah. But talking to our doctors, and I love the AEW medical staff and trainers, they think it’s gonna be six to eight weeks for this specific injury. The stuff after Revolution, after the Iron Man match with Max, I had a torn labrum and then some compressed vertebrae and all that kind of stuff.

“It’s normal wrestler stuff. I’m fine, but we just thought from a precautionary measure. That’s one of the things that I love. I love our medical staff. We have an incredible training staff, and I try to follow their direction.”

Danielson also described how his arm felt during the match and his decision to keep going.

“Sometimes when you do things that are really hard, you feel more accomplished doing them,” Danielson said. “For example, I pretty much knew I had fractured my forearm, and you can stop, or you can go. Some of my favorite moments in my career are times when I’ve chosen to go, and tonight, I chose to go, and I don’t regret it at all.”

Danielson clarified that the injury occurred when he didn’t have his elbow in a safe place when Okada hit an elbow drop, and called the injury a freak accident.
