AEW President Tony Khan has reiterated his belief that CM Punk is a positive influence and is all for Punk attending another media scrum.
Punk returned to AEW TV as part of the debut episode of Collision earlier this month, after not being seen in person during the infamous All Out 2022. Since returning, Punk has remained undefeated on TV, winning twice on AEW Collision, as well as defeating Satoshi Kojima at AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door.
Following Forbidden Door, AEW hosted their traditional post-show media scrum, which did not feature CM Punk. Many have speculated as to why Punk was not part of the post-show activities. When Khan himself was asked the question during the media scrum, the AEW President said that Punk is a "positive influence on the company." Khan added that Punk wasn't booked for the scrum this time, but would be happy for Punk to attend a media scrum in the future.
While Khan is confident that Punk is a positive influence on AEW, that opinion isn't shared by the fans. After supportive responses in his native Chicago, Punk was showered with boos in Canada at last week's Collision and at Forbidden Door.
It's hardly a surprise that the Great White North gave Punk a less than favorable response, considering that The Elite's Kenny Omega is from Canada. It remains to be seen what the reaction to Punk will be like when AEW is in neutral territory.
Punk's victory at Forbidden Door means he will face either Samoa Joe or Roderick Strong, who will collide on this Saturday's episode of AEW Collision.
