The roster of AEW Collision could soon have a World Championship to call their own if Andrade El Idolo has anything to say about it.
It has been less than a month since AEW's third weekly wrestling show launched, joining AEW Dynamite (which launched in 2019) and AEW Rampage (launched in 2021.) After being absent from programming for months, Andrade El Idolo has returned to TV as part of Collision. While the new show won't have a 'hard roster split' as some had speculated, there will be certain talents who keep to Collision, and similarly, some talents will stick to Dynamite.
During the very first episode of AEW Collision, CM Punk made his return to TV after missing close to a year due to an injury and his suspension over All Out. In his first promo back, Punk produced the AEW World Championship that he won at All Out, claiming that he will keep the title until he is pinned or submitted in the ring.
At this time, AEW Collision has no exclusive championships, and there have been some questions as to how titles will work with certain wrestlers being kept on different shows to be separate from each other. Taking to Twitter this week, Andrade spoke about being proud to be part of AEW Collision, stating the show has achieved as much in three weeks as what other brands take years to do. Andrade added that the next step for Collision is "maybe having our own championship that CM Punk never lost."
There has been no confirmation from Tony Khan as to whether Punk's title will be an officially sanctioned championship, or whether Collision will introduce its own championships.
