Jon Moxley is dealing with a 'minor concussion' following an incident during this week's AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam.

During the show, Moxley defended his AEW International Championship against Rey Fenix. Moxley captured the gold at All Out earlier this month, ending the record-breaking reign of Orange Cassidy. Unfortunately for Mox, his reign would end at 17 days after being pinned by Fenix this week.

The finish of the match was a strange sight, as Fenix hit Moxley with an over-the-shoulder sitout piledriver to end the match. While Moxley did not kick out of the following pinfall attempt, referee Rick Knox stopped short of the three count. Moxley was then seen muttering something to Knox and Fenix and would be hit with a second over-the-shoulder sitout piledriver. This time, Knox made the three-count.

Taking to Twitter, Dave Meltzer reported that Moxley suffered a 'minor concussion' due to the spot.

PW Torch reports that the concussion was suffered during the duo's pre-match brawl, meaning that Moxley wrestled the entire match despite being concussed. Moxley, aware that something was wrong, would call an 'audible' to alter the finish. Knox was unsure of the actual finish, however, which is why he didn't count three after the first piledriver.

Despite the concussion, Moxley "isn't expected to [miss] much if any ring time." AEW President Tony Khan has not publicly commented on the matter at this time.
