NXT Women’s Champion Kendal Grey battles Lola Vice in an Underground Match

An epic NXT Women’s Championship Match will take place in one of the hardest-hitting bouts possible: an NXT Underground Match. Grey dethroned Vice to become NXT Women’s Champion at NXT Great American Bash, but the two were far from finished with each other. Victory can only be achieved via pinfall or submission, and the two crossover stars have different gameplans on how to achieve that.

— We are live! Vic Joseph and Booker T greet audiences at home before throwing it over to a video recapping some of the events of last Tuesday's show.

— Jaida Parker then makes her way to the ring. Thea Hail, Nikkita Lyons, Karmen Petrovic, and Nattie all follow.

Jaida Parker and Thea Hail vs. Karmen Petrovic and Nikkita Lyons (w/ Nattie)

Petrovic and Parker begin the action. The bell rings and the two lock up. Parker levels Petrovic with a shoulder tackle, but Hail and Lyons tag in. Lyons pins Hail, but Hail kicks out and Lyons wears down Hail with a submission hold.

Hail and Parker level Petrovic and Lyons with double shoulder tackles and fly through the middle rope, but Nattie takes out Hail on the outside and Lyons continues to wear down Hail in the middle of the ring back from the break. She levels her with a clothesline, then tags in Petrovic. Petrovic delivers a double kick to Hail, but Lyons tags back in and rocks Hail with a right hand.

Lyons wears down Hail with a submission hold, but Hail rolls up Lyons. Lyons kicks out, but Parker and Petrovic tag in. Petrovic takes out Parker and tags out to Lyons, but Parker rolls up Lyons. Lyons kicks out and Parker knocks an interfering Nattie off the ring apron, but Lyons rolls her up. Parker kicks out and delivers her signature Hip Attack to Lyons, then tags out to Hail and takes out an interfering Petrovic. Hail then delivers a senton to Lyons off the top rope and pins her for the win.

Winners: Thea Hail and Jaida Parker

— After the match, Nattie, Lyons, and Petrovic begin attacking Parker and Hail. Lyons holds Parker in place for Nattie to deliver a forearm to her, but accidentally hits Lyons which allows Parker and Hail to regain the upperhand.

— We see Myles Borne in the backstage area. Tavion Heights asks him if he’s ready since it’s the biggest match of his career. Borne says he’s locked in and will go all out tonight. Heights says he doesn’t know what he will do if he doesn’t win the match. Borne tells him not to worry about it and to relax.

— We see Tony D’Angelo in the backstage area.

— A recap of Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi in a Hell in a Cell Match from SummerSlam is shown and we see Lesnar confirm his retirement via the Pat McAfee Show earlier tonight.

— Tony D'Angelo makes his way to the ring.

D'Angelo says Grayson Waller disrespected him and everyone in the "NXT" locker room last Tuesday, then says Waller thinks he can use the NXT Championship as a stepping stone back up to the main roster. He calls Waller old business, then addresses Cruz Montana and calls Montana to the ring to finish their conversation from last Tuesday.

Waller appears in the crowd on the platform and says D'Angelo and the NXT Championship have to go through him. D'Angelo says Waller is talking trash from afar and invites Waller into the ring to talk man-to-man, but says Waller won't because he's a b****. He recalls teaming up with Waller during the 2021 WarGames matches in the "NXT" 2.0 days, then questions what Waller has accomplished since then compared to the likes of himself, Carmelo Hayes, and Trick Williams.

Waller asks D'Angelo if he's been practicing, then says D'Angelo has some energy and fire unlike the soft roster backstage. He says there's a bunch of guys on their social media backstage, but Montana's music hits and he appears in the crowd among the fans. He says Waller rattled some cages last Tuesday and says he was once in Waller's shoes, then says Waller has a chip on his shoulder because his life isn't as nice as Waller wants it to be. He says he has a chip on his own shoulder because he has to, then says he hopes for Waller's sake that he never has to reach the lows he did when he looks at the man in the mirror. He says the difference between himself and Waller is that he spent years proving he belongs in "NXT" while Waller spent years proving to other people in an effort to get noticed.

Waller asks Montana how many times he'll tell the same sad story, then says he chose to embrace his own personal demons. Montana says Waller only fights for himself, but D'Angelo intervenes and tells Waller and Montana to fight it out in a Number One Contenders Match to get a shot at his NXT Championship.

— We take a look at the history between Lola Vice and Kendal Grey.

— We see Wren Sinclair and she says there is more at stake than her title match. Sinclair says Kendal Grey has her match and she feels they are over their heads. Grey says they want the pressure. Grey tells Sinclair they have it.

— Zaria makes her way to the ring. Wren Sinclair follows.

WWE Women’s Speed Championship Match: Wren Sinclair (c) vs. Zaria

The bell rings as the five minute time limit begins, and Sinclair rolls up Zaria. Zaria kicks out and looks to land an elbow drop on Sinclair, but Sinclair rolls out of the way and seds Zaria crashing into the top rope face first as the clock passes four remaining minutes.

Zaria sends Sinclair crashing into the ring post shoulder first and fires off Hammer and Anvil elbows on her as the clock approaches three remaining minutes. Zaria rocks Sinclair with a knee to her head as Sinclair is draped through the middle rope, but Zaria levels Sinclair with a back elbow as the clock approaches two remaining minutes.

Zaria and Sinclair exchange right hands with one another, but Sinclair lands a facebuster on Zaria and pins her. Zaria kicks out as the clock passes one remaining minute, then looks to land a chokeslam on her. Sinclair counters into a roll up, but Zaria kicks out and Sinclair delivers a double underhook butterfly suplex to Zaria. Sinclair then ascends to the top rope as the clock passes thirty remaining seconds, but Zaria sees Sinclair coming when she flies off the top rope. Zaria sets up for a F5 on Sinclair, but Sinclair cinches in a reverse chicken wing on Zaria after the time limit has expired.

Winner and STILL WWE Women’s Speed Champion: Wren Sinclair (via time limit expiration)

— After the match, Zaria delivers a F5 to Sinclair.

— Backstage, we see Lucien Price and Bronco Nima in the locker room. Nima apologizes for last week and says it cost them. Price says Nima did what he had to do. Nima says he wants to make sure they are good. BirthRight shows up and they remind OTM that they are right. They say OTM is crumbling. Price challenges King. Connors says he has to go through a tournament to face King. Price says he wants a singles match.

— Elsewhere backstage, Grayson Waller is walking up to Kelani Jordan. Jordan says Waller was right about the 10% of women ready for the main roster. Jordan says Waller had plenty of chances at the NXT Championship, while she is still waiting for her first. Jordan says she promises to win the NXT Women’s Title on her very first attempt. Mason Rook walks up to Waller and puts him on notice. Kam Hendrix ambushes Rook as the brawl is underway.

— Back at ringside, Myles Borne and Tavion Heights make their way to the ring. Vanity Project has already made their way out.

WWE NXT Tag Team Championship Match: The Vanity Project (c) vs. Myles Borne and Tavion Heights

Heights and Ricky Smokes begin the action. The bell rings and Heights pins Smokes. Smokes kicks out, but Heights lands a pair of bodyslams on him and follows it up with an over the shoulder powerslam. Borne tags in and delivers an Angle Slam to Smokes, but Brad Baylor tags in and Borne sends him crashing into the mat.

Borne whips Baylor into the corner of the ring spine first, then tags out to Heights. Heights whips Borne into Baylor in order for Borne to level Baylor with a clothesline, but Smokes tags back in and rolls up Heights. Heights kicks out, but Borne tags in and sends Baylor crashing into the mat spine first during the commercial break.

Borne delivers a spinebuster to Smokes, but Smokes and Baylor deliver a double suplex to Borne. Baylor rolls up Borne, but Borne kicks out and Baylor fires off stomps on Borne in the corner. Smokes tags in and follows suit, but Heights tags in and tags out to Borne. Borne and Heights deliver a powerbomb-dropkick combination to Smokes, but Baylor tags back in and delivers a spinebuster-dropkick combination to Heights. Borne delivers a scoop powerslam to Baylor, and Borne and Heights then deliver a double scoop powerslam to Vanity Project.

Drake tries to interfere, but the referee catches him and ejects Lockwood from the ringside area. Heights intercepts Baylor with a belly-to-belly suplex and pins him for the win.

Winners and NEW WWE NXT Tag Team Champions: Myles Borne and Tavion Heights

— After the match, Drake is pissed and Myka Lockwood and Keanu Carver pause to stare at each other.

— Backstage, The Culling confront Lizzy Rain. Izzi Dame says the result would have been different if it weren’t for Shawn Spears. Spears walks up to them and says Robert Stone booked a mixed tag team match for next week. Rain says she doesn’t trust Spears and if things go sideways, it will be three on one. Spears calls Rain a smart girl.

— Keanu Carver makes his way to the ring. EK Prosper follows.

Keanu Carver vs. EK Prosper

The bell rings and Prosper delivers a kick to Carver from the ring apron. He delivers a moonsault to Carver off the middle rope and lands a dropkick on him, but Carver responds with a dropkick of his own to Prosper. Prosper shotgun dropkicks Carver over the announce desk on the outside of the ring, but Carver wears down Prosper with a backbreaker submission hold inside the ring during the commercial break.

Carver wears down Prosper with another submission hold, but Prosper escapes and rocks Carver with a kick to his head back from the break. He follows it up with a Tornado DDT and ascends to the top, then flies off the top rope with a Swanton Bomb.

Carver delivers a back suplex to Prosper, then follows it up with a powerbomb. Prosper runs over Carver with a Shining Wizard before he pins Carver, but Carver reverses the pinfall for the win.

Winner: Keanu Carver

— After the match, Prosper gets a pat on the back from Carver.

— Backstage, Cutler James and Osiris Griffin talk with Dion Lennox about getting another shot at Saquon Shugars. Dion says he was put through a wall. He says do you call that a win. Dion says he wants them to be untouchable. Dion says you are content beating a team put together a week before the match and Saquon is still out there. Dion says are you happy being called soft and complacent. Dion says if so what are we doing here. Dion says next week they make sure Saquon doesn’t walk away from them.

— We go to a video of Shiloh Hill and he says he fractured part of his skull and will be out of action for a while. Hill talks about Kam Hendrix’s comments about his injury.

— We get a video package paying tribute to Dory Funk Jr., who passed away today at age 85.

— Backstage, Robert Stone talking to a free agent on the phone. Cruz Montana walks up to the NXT General Manager. Stone makes Grayson Waller vs. Cruz Montana official for next week. Tristan Angels shows up and says he doesn’t think Montana has earned an opportunity for the NXT Championship. Montana talks about the work he put in last year. Montana says Angels is the rookie here, not him.

— It is then announced that next week Cruz Montana will face Grayson Waller in a WWE NXT Championship #1 Contender’s Match, ZARIA faces Wren Sinclair for the NXT Women’s North American Title, Shawn Spears and Lizzy Rain face Izzi Dame and Niko Vance and Saquon Shugars faces Dion Lennox.

— The ring is now ready for the NXT Underground Match and the trainees make their way around the ring.

WWE NXT Women’s Championship Underground Match: Kendal Grey (c) vs. Lola Vice

The bell rings and Grey exchanges a jab with Vice. She looks to lock in an armbar on Vice, but Vice avoids it and delivers a kick to Grey's thigh. Grey looks to cinch in a Figure Four Leg Lock on Vice, but Vice looks to reverse it. The two women roll around the ring, but stop themselves before they spill onto the floor.

Grey delivers a hurricanrana to Vice off the ring apron and onto the floor, then sends her crashing into the ring post. Vice sends Grey crashing into the ring steps face first when Grey looks to deliver a kick on her.

Grey begins bleeding from her ear and medical officials check on her during the commercial break, but Grey bandages up her head and insists she's good to continue. Grey continues to stumble around the ring, but Vice eventually cinches in an Ankle Lock on her back from the break. Grey escapes, but Vice delivers a kick to her and lands the 305. Members of the "NXT" roster catch Grey and Grey pins Vice, but forgets that pinfalls don't count in a NXT Underground match.

Grey looks to cinch in a sleeper on Vice, but Vice counters into a Triangle. Vice escapes and accidentally hits the 305 on the referee. She cinches in a sleeper on Grey and Grey fades, but the referee doesn't see. Sinclair hypes up Grey as Vice pulls up the referee, but Grey delivers a superkick to Vice. Vice delivers a roundhouse kick to Grey, but Grey cinches in an armbar on Vice. Vice taps out.

Winner and STILL NXT Women's Champion: Kendal Grey

— After the match, Grey raises Vice's arm as a show of respect to her as the show goes off the air.
