WWE is working on a new John Cena documentary.

The former face of WWE ended his year-long retirement tour last week, with a loss to Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13.

Everyone who watched the show was moved over the legendary career coming to an end after 26 years. People such as Cody Rhodes were seen being visibly emotional while trying to come to terms with the GOAT’s retirement.

Now Fightful Select has provided an update on this, revealing that WWE is working on a documentary surrounding John Cena’s retirement. Not a lot is known about the documentary but the company is eyeing a mid-2026 release date for it, with being the rumored landing point.

The Cenation Leader had announced the retirement tour at Money In The Bank last year, with the intention of giving fans enough time to come to terms with the end of his career.

With the advance notice, it seems likely that the officials would have planned a documentary highlighting the whole of his final run from a behind-the-scenes standpoint.

John Cena had revealed before his retirement that he had already signed a new ambassador contract with the company. So he’s likely to continue making appearances for the promotion.
