Default Default Why Hogan ~cough~ Cena does not work with today's viewers

we all know that a lot of people are upset with the present superman push of one John Cena. But does anyone have any ideas why today's viewers have such a hatred for the only true face comparable to the Hulkster? I mean the only others remotely close to Cena's dominance since Hogan is Bret Hart, Stone Cold, and The Rock but none of them were ever given the push Cena is getting. I can't recall a face dominance like this since Hogan. Sure Cena has a great wrestling body and good present day charisma but he is really just all of those guys molded into one. Hogan's dominance, The Rock's charisma, Austin's lack of authority, and the Hitman's submission finisher, but who is Cena really? He's a good gangster? Huh? It really is a lame attempt to reach WWE fans. Tiny parts of the best don't make you good or likeable. Why is it Cena is the one getting Hogan's push anyway? Plenty of people in the WWE sell merchandise. DX sells crap loads. The WWE writers need to be more realistic in their writings. The characters are getting to be lame attempts at buying people.

So much to say negatively about Cena though. And it even became more apparent with one of the worst promos a "top" star has ever given this last monday night. Where the hell did the comparing "packages" come from? The crowd, which did seem relatively pro-Cena almost immediately soured and started to boo him when he started this crap. These last few weeks have really spotlighted Cena's many weaknesses and the WWE is just looking bad by staying behind his push.

I was cracking up the entire time with the comparing packages thing. It was hillarious.

And you can't tell me that we need several anti-Cena threads started by the same guy on the same day.

I cracked up laughing too, but at Cena's pathetic attempt at Rockesque humour. Didn't like in then and certainly don't like a poorly attempted try at it now.

And I actually agree, but just can't refuse a dig at Cena... it's just my nature.

    I've noticed.

While I agree Cena isn't the best technical wrestler and he does have the occasional bad day wrestling, he usually performs well in ring, he always gives it everything he has, and he is great on the mic.

He is horrible on the mic. Never has been good and never will be good. The rapper, thug, bully promos just don't work well, especially when they are directed at legends such as HBK and HHH.

And I agree with legolas... it is very hard to screw up when you only have 5 or so moves to do. Even khali seems to do his 3 moves fairly well. That doesn't make either good in the ring though. Add on to this that Cena just cannot sell moves it is ridiculous. He tries to act like he is a 7 foot 3 to 500 pound Nash, Big Show, Kane, Undertaker (etc) and does not sell moves. Those guys could get away with it, Cena cannot.

He also has some of the worst facial expressions in the business today. Nothing is natural with this man

Now come on, honostly, you cannot say Cena has no mic skills with a straight face. That is going beyond the point of stubborness. Cena is great on the mic. If you would pull you head out of your ass and give him a chance, maybe watching RAW would be better for you. I don't know about you, but I'd rather enjoy the show then sit there finding every little thing wrong about it.

Cena is too melodramatic on the mic at best. And like the Rock before him, he tends to fall back to insults to get the crowd into his promos.

This will make me an enemy of a lot of people, but the Rock was a severly overrated mic worker. He was average at best. I don't want or need sexual puns and humour, or the insults. I want actual substance in a promo, not style and fluff.
