One of my favorites and this man was one of or the legit toughest man that walked planet. He was a policeman for Strangler Lewis so if wanted a shot at Lewis you had to go through Pesek and more than likely you were gonna get hurt. Pesek started wrestling in 1916 so when he started wrestling matches were shoots. When it became worked in the early to mid 1920s lot of promoters didn't like to book him because he did not like that trust and thought matches should be real contests. Promoters couldn't trust him to do business. He beat Nat Pendleton, who was an olympic wreslter, within an inch of his life and Pendleton got out of wrestling after that and went into acting. I spoke to Frank Dusek, a former wrestler, and he told me his father Wally Dusek trained under Pesek and said he was just as tough as Strangler Lewis. He's had matches against big names in that era such as Earl Caddock, Joe Toots Mondt,& Joe Stecher.
