Pat McAfee will be back on WWE TV when he can.

The WWE star took a hiatus from commentary in June this year citing mental exhaustion. While he made a one-night return for the WrestlePalooza PPV in September, the 38-year-old has not been a regular for the company since.

WWE President Nick Khan was the latest guest on McAfee’s show, and he asked the former NFL star when he would be returning to the promotion. Pat joked that he was in shape to make a comeback now.

Khan then claimed that he had gotten six messages from people wondering when McAfee would return to WWE during the interview. He suggested that they would bring Pat back when college football season slows down:

"We’re going to bring you back. I know you, and I are going to sit together once college football slows."

The retired football star had been brought back to WWE for Raw’s debut on Netflix. His latest stint was cause for some controversy, as Corey Graves had publicly vented about being sent down to NXT to make room for Pat McAfee on the main roster.

McAfee also wrestled a match against Gunther at Backlash during his last WWE run. This latest conversation suggests he might be open to an in-ring return down the line as well.
