Shiloh Hill has provided an unfortunate injury update after his recent victory on WWE NXT. He confirmed that he’ll be away from the ring for the foreseeable future.

Although the rising star initially believed he had escaped unscathed, medical evaluations told a very different story.

Hill addressed fans in a pre-recorded video during the August 4 episode of WWE NXT. He revealed the extent of the injury he suffered during his match against Tristan Angels on the July 28 edition of the show.

Explaining what happened after the match, Hill admitted that adrenaline masked the seriousness of the injury until later. In a video posted on X, Hill said:

“Man, adrenaline is one hell of a drug. I say that because after I beat Tristan Angels last week, pretty much felt like everything was all right. Then I tried to like blow my nose and my whole face just filled with air.”

Medical examinations later confirmed that Hill had suffered a fractured maxilla, a break in the upper jawbone that forms part of the skull.

“Turns out during the match, I fractured part of my skull called the maxilla, which is definitely like a rare type of fracture. But unfortunately with this one, it might be a little while till you guys see my face back in the ring.”

Despite the setback, Hill kept his trademark personality intact. While discussing his recovery, he joked about being bored because he wasn’t medically cleared to train. Moreover, he admitted he had been passing time by researching random wrestling facts.

From the mystery surrounding Pat Patterson’s Intercontinental Championship tournament to the origins of the famous poison mist, Hill turned an injury update into an entertaining history lesson. Even on the sidelines, he wasn’t pulling any punches when it came to trivia.

The injury comes after Hill built momentum with his victory over Tristan Angels, making the timing especially unfortunate. WWE has not announced a timetable for his return. Unfortunately, though, Hill indicated surgery and recovery will keep him away from in-ring competition for a while.

For now, his focus shifts from winning matches to healing up, with fans hoping the promising NXT prospect can make a full recovery before resuming his climb up the ladder.
