Amy Winehouse's publicist has said that the singer is "upset" after learning that her London home was burgled while she was away on holiday.

According to People magazine, the door to the star's home was smashed in and thieves made off with guitars and recording equipment after being disturbed by a neighbour.

The star's representative Chris Goodman said: "Amy is upset, of course. But everything can be replaced."
"From her point of view, her favourite guitar is with her in St. Lucia. It was a special present, given her by [record label] Universal for winning the Grammy awards last year."

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "We are investigating a burglary at an address in Camden at around 4 am on Thursday. Inquiries are continuing."
