Gatorade has announced that it is ending its sponsorship relationship with Tiger Woods.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the company released a statement on Friday officially severing its marketing deal with the troubled pro golfer.

"We no longer see a role for Tiger in our marketing efforts and have ended our relationship," read the statement.

It continued: "However, our partnership with the Tiger Woods Foundation will continue. We wish him all the best."

The PepsiCo-firm company discontinued a drink endorsed by Woods last year.

Gatorade marks the third sponsor to drop Woods after AT&T and Accenture.

Last week, Woods made a public apology for his infidelities, insisting that he is "deeply sorry" for his actions.
