Doubt me on this, I can argue with the best of them. Morrison is nothing more then a glorified spot monkey, he has no real wrestling skill, all he can do is a few fancy flips. That is all. Watching a Morrison match is like watching a rookie train for life in the ring. It just seems like he is going through the motions. He can't tell a story in the ring all he does is flip after flip and the IWC eats his shit up while the casual fan doesn't give two shits and a piss about him.
He can't talk on the mic, he puts fans to sleep, literally whenever he picks up a mic to talk. The guy is the definition of a failed IWC Poster boy, just like Carlito and Shelton Benjamin before him. He's not entertaining, untalented and just boring. The IWC likes to talk about how he has never had his chance to shine and get his shot at the main event but I disagree.
2006 he was shoved into a feud with John Cena when Cena was red hot, he failed to connect with the audience even while being in a feud with the biggest star in the company and was placed back in the tag ranks with Kenny Dykstra before being moved to ECW. Now before he was moved to ECW he was nothing short of a jobber, but because of an accident that I will not mention he became the ECW champion and killed all it's credibility taking it from a 3rd world title to meaning as much if not less then the Cruiserweight title.
Was busted for steroids and came back 30 days later with Vince ready and willing to put him right back in a feud with the new ECW champ Punk, but the fans didn't want to see it as at Cyber Sunday 2007 a relatively unknown and unappreciated Miz got the fans vote into the match, what was Vince to do? The only thing he could do, he paired Morrison and Miz together where they controlled the tag ranks for two years with people expecting Morrison to come out looking better and like a bigger star, but it was The Miz who outshined Morrison for 2 straight years.
Now lets move to 2009, the draft night, Miz gets moved to RAW and Morrison to Smackdown, Morrison picks up clean victories over 2 World champions, Jeff Hardy and CM Punk twice. You're not doing to this to somebody unless yo have plans for them, but he got little reaction and Vince was forced to once again drop him down.
Skip ahead to September 2009, Rey is suspended and refuses to drop the title to Dolph Ziggler who at the time was the hottest upcoming star on Smackdown and drops it to John Morrison who had gone back to doing nothing. Morrison carries the title for a few months and then drops it to Drew McIntyre before becoming his bitch for 4 months straight.
He's had more then enough chances to make a splash in the main event scene, but he lacks any real skill what so ever, he went into Elimination Chamber and everybody was talking about how he came out looking strong WRONG!!!!, you know why? It's easy to come out of a match looking strong when by the time you get into the ring 2 of the 6 men are gone from the match.
People were saying he was going to win Money in the Bank, and I laughed. Why? Because it was obvious to anybody before they announced the participants who the 3 front runners where. Miz, McIntyre and Kofi.
Miz is well on his way to the WWE Elite, while Morrison once again has fallen back into the tag team ranks with another mid carder that Vince is trying to desperately make into a star.
Morrison will no doubt once again fail and his partner will come out of this looking like a real star, and i for one can't complain because outside of his IWC fanboys, Morrison is nothing more then a 2007-2010 version of what Shelton Benjamin and Carlito were in 2004-2006.
