Episode #1
Before the show starts with a video highlighting important moments in the EAM womens divison over the years. The division has had it up's and downs over the years, but now, with their own TV show, we can with certainty say that the EAM womens division have reached a new peak in the history books. Tonights show is the first episode of hopefully many to come. Tonights show will feature both new an old faces, and it is with great pleasure that EAM Promotions can welcome their fans to the girls own show. It's long overdue! We go to the Spotlight vignette.
Show starts in the arena at ringside, and we quickly see that this is not The Hammerstein Ballroom. But we are still in The Manhattan Center. This show is taped with an audience from The Grand Ballroom, so its in the same building, just not the same venue as Jamboree and Pride. We are welcomed to the show by Spotlight's two commentators, former EAM Womens Champions; Beth Phoenix and Sara Del Rey. They explain that here, even the referee's and ring-crew are girls, and then they mention backstage interviewers Joanna & Amy Rose and ring announcer Jamie Keyes before focusing on tonights show, telling that they have a jampacked card for this first event, so let's not waste any more time. Take it away Jamie!
Tag Team Matchup
Dakota Kai & Tegan Nox Vs Taeler Hendrix & Scarlett Bordeaux
Awesome opening and the logo looks like a cancer symbol so that’s cool. No idea who the women are but I guess they’re new and something different, huge historic night for sure. Hopefully we still see the girls on regular shows and PPV’s. Maybe a purple/pink ring with furry turnbuckles or not. Might be sexist. Solid opening match from both teams with a lot of high flying and big powerful moves but at the end of the match Kai and Nox pick up the first ever win on a historic night.
We see a promotional video for a upcoming PPV that we was teased about some weeks back, but it's now confirmed. During season 14, the women in EAM will be getting their own PPV " No Boys Allowed " Not much are revealed about the event or any of the matches, but the tickets are already out for sale even though the event is not taking place until October. We cut back to the arena for our second match of the evening.
Singles Matchup
Asuka Vs Penelope Ford
Awesome all women PPV. Lot of women now and maybe could even bring in other women’s titles to defend from different companies and/or merge them. Maybe even a middle women’s belt in the future. Also hopefully there’s some sort of faction on this show like the other brands. Ford tries her hardest to get the win but Asuka with a mist quickly stops that. Asuka lock gets the tap out and win.
We go backstage where Joanna Rose is standing together with Charlotte Flair. She asks Charlotte if she is nervous in front of her big match against Nia Jax at Fight For Glory. Since Mickie is the only one to beat Nia, her odds are pretty small. Charlotte says that she always liked small odds, besides, if Mickie could beat Nia so can she. After all, she is the daughter of the greatest wrestler that ever lived. And It's in her her veins to be a champion. And what better way to start of season fourteen, than to crown me, the first ever; Center Of Attention Champion?! We cut back to ringside.
Singles Matchup
Jamie Hayter Vs Session Moth Martina
Should be a solid match that’s never happened before and we haven’t seen Jax since the PPV. I wonder if she’s made any changes. Another solid hard hitting match from both girls throughout this one. High flying, strong style bumps but at the end Moth looks for her finisher but that hard style of Jamie ends her with a Overdriver for the 3 count and second win. I wonder if this brand will have records on wins/losses. An idea possibly.
Before our main event, we go backstage where Amy Rose is standing together with The EAM Womens Tag Team Champions; Sasha Banks & Bayley. Amy wonders who they would rather face at Fight For Glory. Tessa/Toni or Alexa/Leah, but Sasha says it doesn't matter who they are facing, because the result will be the same either way, we are walking in as tag team champions, and we are walking out as tag team champions. Because nobody has got anything on " The Boss and Bayley " , they then walk away from the interview, making their way down to the arena to be present at ringside during the main event. They find themselves a couple of chairs and sit down, joining Beth and Sara at the announce table just as the main event is about to start.
Tag Team Matchup - Winning Team Gets A Titleshot At Fight For Glory
Tessa Blanchard & Toni Storm Vs Alexa Bliss & Leah Von Dutch
More build up of the PPV. It should be noted that we have two female referees as well including Aubrey Edwards and Jessika Carr. A great main event in this one with all girls looking great. Lots of high flying, big bumps and hard hitting action. Double team moves as well as all of these girls have looked great recently. Twisted Bliss gets stopped. Storm Zero and a Tessa Chardizard but not enough for the win but both teams go to the corners on each side of the ring as Alexa ranas Storm and Tessa powerbombs Dutch...1...2...3...it’s over!. What happened!. There’s some confusion going on between both teams and it’s revealed that both teams were pinned so the referee decides that we have no choice but to have both teams win this match, made a draw and fight Sasha and Bayley at the PPV in a giant 3 way match!.
As the match is coming to a close and everyone thinks that the first episode of Spotlight is over, music cranks the arena speakers. The music is not familiar, so everyone wonders what this is about. Out on the stage walks a blue haired woman. Besides her blue hair, she is wearing glasses and she is dressed in a suit. She walks down the rampway and makes her way down to ringside where she takes a round around the ring, greeting Beth and Sara before entering the ring, gesturing for a microphone. She opens with asking if everyone had a good time tonight, and she gets a great reaction from the crowd. She's happy for that reaction, telling the fans in audience that, then she introduces herself. Her name is Quinn McKay, and she is the general manager of Spotlight! She tells everyone she wants to try being the best GM as possible, so....she gets brutally interrupted when music cranks the arena speakers. This gets a huge reaction from the audience as it is Nia Jax's music. Seconds later, Nia walks out on the stage. She looks in good shape. Who would believe that after her match against Mickie at Grandslam? She slowly makes her way down the ramp, heading towards the ring. Quinn is still standing in the ring, not being intimidated by Jax. Or at least try not to show she is. Jax reaches ringside and enters the ring, walking straight up to the Spotlight GM. Quinn tells Jax its nice to meet her. After all she is one of the contenders for the new womens title here in EAM. Jax says she is not here to make friends. At least not with authority figures. She is here to dominate the womens division and become a second time womens champion. And Quinn better understand what Jax are capable of doing. Suddenly, music again plays, and again it's a song not familiar to fans in the audience, so there is no big reaction just from the music alone. But then, a gargantuan woman walks out on the stage. It's Isis The Amazon! Oh My God! This is crazy! She makes her way down the ramp and down to ringside. Jax is just standing in the ring. It looks like she's pretty dumbfounded by what she's witnessing. Isis reaches the apron and makes her way into the ring. Neither woman attack the other, but the show, this first ever episode of EAM Spotlight, ends with a colossal stare down in the middle of the ring between Isis and Jax...
Hmm was expecting for the GM to be a known person like AJ Lee but I guess new is good as well. Was going to save Jax’s first appearance for the PPV but this works as well. Was gonna say she slimmed down and is more serious and less mocking. So good build up. If Jax wins then the women’s division could be dominated and destroyed and controlled by Jax. Also Isis appearance at the end. Not a huge fan as she hasn’t done much or been around in years but I guess you need bigger girls for Jax to fight.
