Episode #136 - Taped in New York/USA
Show starts backstage where we hook up with Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, who we haveb't seen much of in the ring as of late, but it seems that both men are confident with the tv time they are getting, putting mostly over new talent when they first have a match. Kevin and Sami are talking about the future when suddenly someone knocks on the door and Kevin goes to answer it. He comes back with a letter and he reads it. It's from the Pride general manager, Drake Younger, and he explains that they will be facing each other in tonights main event, and the winner will proceed into the Tv Title tournament. May the best man win, and good luck to both. Kevin and Sami looks at each other as we cut to the Pride vignette...
Qualifying Matchup for the TV Title Tournament
Timothy Thatcher Vs Mick Moretti
Pretty fun hard hitting match from both men throughout this one. Thatcher gets the win but Mick looks alright. Thatcher Bomb and Line get the win for him.
As we get back from commercial break we go back to the ring where Will Ospreay once again has placed himself to hog some of the limelight, talking about his challenge to the so called legend Edge. He says that he hasn't heard as much as a little squeek from Edge. That probably means he's scared. Not that strange really, concidering his age etc. He must have realized it would not be safe for him to accept. He goes on for a while before suddenly the lights goes off in the whole arena. Then... " You think you know me.... " the arena goes bananas when the music cranks the speakers. The titantron flickers but no Edge walks out on the stage. The lights gets back on as the music fades more and more out. Will laughs, saying that he would have expected more from a legend. This is just pathetic. Is it a failed attempt of mind tricks, huh? He turns around in the ring only to get speared to the canvas by the most devastating spear in the business! The audience explodes as Edge gets back on his feet and poses over the wiggling body of Will Ospreay. He picks up the microphone that Will lost in the process and kneels in front of him. He then tell Will that, at Wrass Bash he better bring his A-game, because that was just too easy. He pulls out a piece of paper and a pen and then signs it with his name before putting it on Will's stomach. He then calls Will a punk before dropping the microphone and leaving the ring. The audience are chanting his name as he backs up the rampway. Will is still down in the ring as we cut to the back.
Wow Edge vs Will never happened and never will again but in EAM yes!
We hook up with the Pride tag team champions, Private Party as they are reflecting on who their next title defence is going to be against, and if it will happen on Wrass Bash or not when Pete Dunne and Matthew Riddle passes by, as they are making themselves ready for their match tonight which is next. Dunne and Matt makes a little joke about how Marq and Isiah should have a firm grip on those titles. Because someone might wanna take them from them, very, very soon. They laugh as they leave. We cut to ringside for the upcoming match with Dunne and Riddle.
Broserweights coming for the titles.
Tag Team Matchup
The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz and Desmond Xavier) Vs The Broserweights (Pete Dunne & Matthew Riddle)
A pretty quick and dominant victory by BW. Just a showcase of fun moves and talent by Dunne and Riddle with kicks and submissions. Dunne gets the win after the fingerbeaker. They celebrate and mock Party after the match.
We cut to the back and find ourselves in the office of general manager Drake Younger. The new Pride Champion; Drew McIntyre are present as he is pretty mad about having to defend his title against five other men in hirs first title defence. And in a Triple Cage match as well. Is that man Russo mad??? Drake replies saying that he probably is, but he's in charge on that PPV, and the news about the match are red hot in social media right now. Drake is sorry, but there is really nothing he can do about it at this point. But if Drew look at it from the bright side. If he manage to retain the title in that match, he will really make a name for himself, writing himself into the history books. And aint that what he'd wanted all along? Drew concider this for a moment, then gets up on his feet, draping the Pride title over his shoulder. He then tell Drake he's absolutely right. He will make a name of himself. No doubt about it. We cut back to ringside and our main event of the evening.
I think it works better since he’s just won the title and nobody would expect him to lose so early instead of people expecting Lars to lose since he’s had it so long.
Qualifying Matchup for the TV Title Tournament
Sami Zayn Vs Kevin Owens
A solid hard hitting back and forth match. Signature/finishing moves from both guys. They know each other so well. Zayn with a Yakuza Kick but Owens reverses with a Cannoball, swanton for a 2. Packaged Piledriver and a Poppa Powerbomb gets the 3 count and win for Owens!
