Episode #138 - Taped in New York/USA
Show starts with a recap of last wee......it suddenly gets interrupted as the scene cut's and we go straight into a promo from Okada. He adress the elephant in the room; Nakamura. He speaks about friendship and betrayal, and retribution and revenge. They need to end this like real men. He then challenge Nakamura to something called; A King's Road Deathmatch!?! What is that? We cut and go to the Pride vignette...
Haha weapons on a truck possibly haha original.
As the show starts, we go to the commentators who explain to us that tonights main event might be a slobberknocker, as team-mates Pete Dunne and Matthew Riddle has been drawn to face each other in the TV Title tournament's first round. We will also get some tag team action as The Guerillas Of Destiny face off against Chocolate Thunder, but also Ilja Dragunov are facing Timothy Thatcher in a round 1 match of the TV Tournament. There is really no time to waste. Mandy Take it away!!
Tag Team Matchup
The Guerrillas Of Destiny (Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa) Vs Chocolate Thunder (Willie Mack & Rich Swann)
Fun filled hard hitting Japan style match. Thunder get the win after a Stunner and 450 but Destiny look pretty good. Back and forth action from both teams with signature moves throughout.
We get to see a recap from Will Ospreay Vs Edge from Wrass Bash IX before we get a promo from Will. He talks about the match, and he gotta admit. It was kinda a dream come true, getting to wrestle Edge. And even tough he lost, he think he actually grew on that experience. Because the matter of fact is, that Will Ospreay will accomplish way more than Edge ever did in this promotion. And that makes one loss, even on a major PPV like one of the big six, not that big of a deal. Make no mistake about it, as your's truly are soon your next Pride Champion, but before that, he will be taking home that TV title, starting with beating the living crap out of whoever is so unlucky to draw him as his opponent next week at Pride....
Heel and face nice.
Round 1 Matchup In The TV Title Tournament
Ilja Dragunov Vs Timothy Thatcher
Hard hitting match from both guys. Thatcher with big spots but at the end of the match the Russian kicks and headbutt gets the 3 count and win and advancing.
As we get back from commercial break we go to ringside where The New Pride Champion; WALTER are present, together with the guys we saw last week beating up McIntyre. WALTER introdude them all by names, and says that together, they are The Imperium. And there is no force in EAM strong enough to stop them on their warpath. All of a sudden Drew McIntyre jumps the barricade from behind them and gets into the ring. He attacks WALTER right away, but gets interrupted pretty fast as the three henchemen of WALTER beats him down. WALTER laughs, telling everyone that let that be a message to everyone, and proof of what he just said. But then, another guy jumps the barricade. It's Lars Sullivan! He gets into the ring, and he's furious with rage. It's like a angry rhino. You don't want to be in his way. He quickly clears the ring for WALTER's three men, and all of a sudden there is only Lars and WALTER left in the ring. They have a stare off, before WALTER quickly rolls out of the ring, to major boooo's from the crowd. Lars does not follow as he's not stupid. He might have caught them by surprise a couple of minutes ago, but not even Lars can stand against 4 men of that caliber. Lars points at WALTER, making a cut the throat gesture, as The Imperium makes their way back up the ramp. We cut to commercial break...
Think Lars/WALTER has happened a lot but continues the story in a different way and thought for a second Cobb/Donovan/Drew/Lars we’re gonna fight Imperium then.
Round 1 Matchup In The TV Title Tournament
Pete Dunne Vs Matthew Riddle
Both look solid with some comedy and weed jokes. High flying and break finger spots through out...
- After much back and forth action and dominance from both men, they go the distance as our TV time for this week is over. It's officially a draw. Guess we need to wait until next week to see what happens? Will both men proceed into the next round? None of them? Will they have to wrestle again? We will get the answers next week...
Hmm interesting development and continues the story.
