Strickland then connects with the Swerve Stomp on The Elite.
– We then head backstage, where MJF knocks on The Hurt Syndicate's locker room. Shelton Benjamin emerges and informs MJF that MVP isn't in the arena because he's upset with MJF, then points out that the watch MJF had previously given him is a cheap knockoff and says The Hurt Syndicate has been on to him the entire time because of it. He tells MJF to get away from them, then officially tells MJF that he's out of the group.
– Backstage, Renee Paquette is standing by with Mark Briscoe. She brings up MJF. Briscoe asks if she's seen him. Before she can answer, in walks Ricochet with The Gates of Agony, telling Briscoe to shut up. Briscoe tells Ricochet he'll handle him later. He turns to the camera to try again to address MJF, only to once more be interrupted by Ricochet and The Gates of Agony, the latter of which demand that Briscoe shows respect to Ricochet. Ricochet gets in one final line and does his Jadakiss rip-off laugh. The trio then finally walk off. Back inside the arena, Excalibur does a live ad-read for Draft Kings. After that, the show shifts gears and heads into another commercial break.
– Commentary talks about MJF’s appearance in Happy Gilmore 2 before going backstage, where MJF looks to clear the air with Shelton Benjamin after Bobby Lashley’s remarks last week. Benjamin says that MVP isn’t here tonight because frankly, he’s disgusted with MJF. He asks MJF for the time, a reminder that Friedman gave him his own Rolex watch, which Shelton reveals is a knockoff. He says the only reason they didn’t lay MJF out months ago was because MVP stuck his neck out for him, before telling Max that as far as the Hurt Syndicate goes, MJF is out. Benjamin gives him a thumbs down and walks off.
– Inside the arena, Tony Schiavone is standing in the ring and introduces Christian Cage, and he makes his way to the ring. Schiavone asks Cage about The Patriarchy kicking him out at All In and Cope subsequently telling him to find himself, and Cage introduces himself before admitting that he's an a**h***. He says he was obsessed with becoming AEW World Champion no matter the cost, and he was ready to fulfill his destiny at AEW Revolution earlier this year. He says when he looked at the canvas, he caught a glimpse of his past and became an a**h*** with feelings. He says it cost him anything, then says he didn't think that Nick Wayne, Mother Wayne, and Kip Sabian were competent enough to kick him out of the group. He asks Nick, Mother Wayne, and Sabian what they know about taking risks.
Cage addresses Cope and asks him if the things he's said to him in AEW were that bad. He says Cope was an opportunist who did some unsavory things to get to the top, then says he was simply conducting business. He says Cope told him to find himself, and says maybe he did but maybe he didn't. He says himself and Cope are very different, and yet the same.
Cage says The Patriarchy decided that they didn't need a patriarch anymore, and says he's "found himself in holes before". He says he's always managed to climb out of the holes that he's been buried in, then says Nick may think he's had a little success as Ring Of Honor World Television Champion but questions how he'll show up when he has to defend his title. He says Nick has the audacity to call himself the new face of AEW, and he has every tool to be that, but he'll have to go through him to get there. He then informs Nick and Sabian that he's disowning the both of them.
Mother Wayne looks to slap Cage, but Cage catches her hand. He spots Sabian sneaking up behind him, but not Nick sneaking up on the other side of him. Mother Wayne hands Nick and Sabian a pair of chairs, then both hit Cage with them with a double Con-Chair-To. Nick tells Cage that he disowns him and turned his back on him.
– Backstage, we hear from FTR and Big Stoke. Stoke has a message for a few people, including Cope who he reminds is banned from the building tonight. He then addresses Bang Bang Gang ahead of the AEW World Tag-Team Championship Eliminator Tournament match tomorrow night on AEW Collision.
The Young Bucks end up approaching them to cut them off. We get a bit of chat as FTR congratulates the Bucks on their win tonight, talking about the possibility of facing them in the finals and saying all bad blood between them is in the past. Stoke still didn't seem fond of them.

– Backstage we see Renee Paquette standing by with AEW World Champion Hangman Page, who is quickly interrupted by MJF who is upset about Page not wanting to defend the title against him unless he executes his World Title contract. He brings up Swerve Strickland being a real man unlike Hangman in an attempt to rile up the champ, but this gets turned around on him when Hangman tells him that if he wants to go after the title he needs to face and beat Mark Briscoe.
He tells MJF that Briscoe is a man he’s respected for over a decade. MJF just scoffs at this and makes another crack at Hangman, prompting Hangman to point out that The Hurt Syndicate isn't with him right now. With that in mind, Hangman says there's nothing stopping him from kicking his ass right here and right now. MJF backs off like a cowardly heel. The commentators promote Ricochet vs. Mark Briscoe coming up next.

– After the match, Mark grabs a microphone and calls out MJF for disparaging his brother's Jay Briscoe's name.
