Angry WWE RAW Live Coverage - September 8th, 2025

AJ Lee is returning to Raw

After returning to WWE on SmackDown alongside her husband CM Punk to unleash painful payback on Women's Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch, three-time Divas Champion AJ Lee is set to appear on Raw for the first time in over 10 years.

    – We kick off RAW with clips from the CM Punk, Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch saga resulting in AJ Lee coming back to the WWE.

    – Becky Lynch & Seth Rollins walk backstage and Becky Lynch pushes the camera away already ticked off and the night hasn't even started.

    – Corey Graves and Joe Tessitore greet audiences at home as Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso make their way to the ring.

Jey says The Vision messed up last week, but before he can continue, Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker make their way to the ring. Breakker asks Jimmy if he's lost since he's Raw and not SmackDown, then says The Vision and the dawgs runs Raw. Reed adds that all he wants is for Reigns' family to acknowledge their "Tribal Thief", then says Jimmy wasn't part of Rollins' vision while on SmackDown. He says Jimmy is on "Raw" now.

Jimmy tells Breakker and Reed that himself and Jey know who they are, but they're the twos because him and Jey are the ones. He then informs Breakker and Reed will take on himself and Jey at WWE Wrestlepalooza, but they don't have to wait if they don't want to. Reed says himself and Breakker can wait, but LA Knight appears on the entrance ramp to blindside Breakker and Reed. Reed and Breakker send Knight crashing int the ring apron, but Jimmy and Jey fly through the middle rope to level Breakker and Reed. Jey and Knight get Reed in the ring and fire off right hands on him.

Adam Pearce yells at LA Knight backstage. Byron Saxton comes by and asks what the commotion is about. Knight says he wants what’s his. Knight confirms he didn’t mean to get Jey Uso squished.

AJ Styles makes his way to the ring. El Grande Americano follows.

AJ Styles vs. El Grande Americano

The bell rings and Styles clocks Americano at the bottom of the entrance ramp. He sends him crashing into the barricade and the ring post, then delivers a chop to him and sends him crashing into another one of the barricades.

Styles gets Americano back in the ring, and the bell sounds. Americano looks to clock Styles as Styles argues with the referee, but Styles ducks out of the way and delivers a Pele Kick to Americano. He sends him crashing out of the ring and flies to level him, then fires off chops on him and gets him back inside the irng once again.

American distracts the referee, opening the door for a second Americano to grab Styles' ankle on the entrance ramp. This opens the door for the first Americano competing in the match to send Styles crashing into the ring steps. Americano fires off right hands on Styles on the outside during the commercial break, then dumps him back inside the ring and lands a kick on him through the ropes. He wears down Styles with a submission hold back from the break, then sends him crashing into the mat with a Crucifix Bomb off the middle rope.

Styles rocks Americano with a Pele kick, then lands a boot on his midsection. The second Americano distracts Styles, but Dragon Lee runs down to the ring to take him out with a hurricanrana off the ring apron. The first Americano looks to roll up Styles, but Styles rolls through and connects with a Styles Clash on him for the win.

    Winner: AJ Styles

    – Backstage, Iyo Sky is with Adam Pearce. Pearce tells Sky that Stephanie Vaquer isn't able to make RAW tonight so the contract signing is cancelled and their match is up in the air. Nikki Bella comes in and tells Sky they'll have a great match. Asuka and Kairi Sane come in and Asuka tells Bella to get lost. Bella tells Asuka that she may not like her but Asuka will respect her. A match between the two is made and Asuka and Bella leave. Sane stays back to apologize to Sky for Asuka's behaviour but Asuka yells at Sane to come with her.

    – Lyra Valkyria makes her way to the ring. Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez follow.

Raquel Rodriguez (w/ Roxanne Perez) vs. Lyra Valkyria

The bell rings and the two lock up. Valkyria lands a kick on Rodriguez's thigh and looks to land a second one, but Rodriguez intercepts it and sends Valkyria crashing into the mat face first. Valkyria wears down Rodriguez with a front face lock to her, but Rodriguez powers up to her and sets up for a delayed vertical suplex.

Valkyria escapes, then lands an arm drag on Rodriguez and kips up. She lands a dropkick on her through the middle rope to level her on the outside, but Rodriguez uses the ring post to wrench back on Valkyria's spine and follows it up with a pair of Corkscrew Elbows to her spine. She goes for a pin, but Valkyria kicks out.

During the commercial break, Rodriguez sends Valkyria crashing into the middle turnbuckle and cinches in a modified one shoulder Torture Rack on her. She berates her and sends her head bouncing off the mat back from the commercial break, but Valkyria sends Rodriguez crashing into the mat with a DDT. Rodriguez then catches Valkyria with a Texana Bomb for the win.

    Winner: Raquel Rodriguez

    – The War Raiders are backstage with Penta and they tell him they always have his back. Penta then talks to Adam Pearce and says when he came to the WWE everyone loves Penta... why is that? Penta wants a title shot at the IC title. Rusev interrupts and says he wants to be champion. He tells Penta that Penta is wasting his time and Penta gets in Rusev's face. Pearce issues a match between the two.

    – AJ Styles and Dragon Lee talk backstage and Styles thanks him for having his back. Jimmy Uso comes by and asks where Jey Uso is. Jimmy sees Jey and asks Jey why he's leaving. Jey says he's not here to make sure LA Knight is good in his match. He says helping Knight won't help them with anything. Jimmy says Jey is sounding like Roman Reigns and Jey tells him that being himself isn't working and leaves.

    – AJ Lee then makes her way to the ring, wearing Becky Lynch's Women's Intercontinental Championship around her waist.

Lee apologizes for keeping fans waiting as the live crowd welcomes her back to WWE. She introduces herself to some of the newer fans who may not know who she is, then says she went on a journey to accomplish some of the other crazy dreams that she had. She says she also needed to take care of herself, went to therapy, and fought hard to do what she could to make sure that her mental health improved. She says she watched what her husband CM Punk went through with Seth Rollins, but then she saw what Becky Lynch was doing to Punk. She says there's a world where she could've been friends with Lynch, but she messed with Punk.

Lynch's music hits, and she makes her way out. She asks Milwaukee if they're stupid, then points out that Lee is wearing her Women's Intercontinental Championship belt. She says that she's nothing like Lee because she's the greatest female wrestler of all time and it's not just her saying that. She says Lee doesn't deserve to put a finger on her title, but Lee says she completely forgot she was wearing Lynch's title since she's been wearing it all around her house. She lays down Lynch's Women's Intercontinental Championship down in the ring and invites Lynch to come and get it.

Lynch tells Lee to keep her hands off her title, then questions where Punk is. She says Punk is hiding behind her wife, then says Lee didn't need to stick her neck into business that doesn't pertain to her before calling Rollins to the ring.

Rollins' music hits, and he makes his way to the ring. Rollins tells Lee to give Lynch her title back so they can all leave Milwaukee, but Lee says Lynch can either come get her title or agree to team with Rollins to face herself and Punk in a tag team match at Wrestlepalooza. Rollins says that's not how things work because he's World Heavyweight Champion and "Raw" is his show. He gets in the ring as Lee dares him to put his hands on her, but Rollins says that the Women's intercontinental Championship doesn't belong to her.

Lynch cheers Rollins on, but bumps into Punk on the entrance ramp. Punk sneaks up behind Rollins and looks to land a GTS on him, but Rollins escapes before he can and agrees to Lee's Wrestlepalooza challenge. Lynch asks Rollins what he's doing, but Lee dumps the Women's intercontinental Championship out of the ring to give it back to Lynch.

    – A promo for Bayley plays where we see her battling demons in her head regarding what she's done to Lyra Valkyria as well. Bayley looks as though she is going crazy and she says she'll make it right.

    Penta vs. Rusev

The bell rings and Rusev runs over Penta with a clothesline. He goes for a pin, but Penta kicks out. Rusev then fires off stomps on Penta, but Penta levels him with a hurricanrana and sends him crashing into the top turnbuckle face first. He connects with a backstabber and a series of kicks on him, but Rusev rolls out of the ring. Penta follows him out there and looks to land a kick on Rusev's chest, but Rusev intercepts it and trips him before sending him crashing into the announce desk. He looks to land a Hip Attack, but Penta moves out of the way and sends him crashing into the ring steps shoulder first.

Penta lands a kick on Rusev's chest and thigh back from the break, then delivers a Sling Blade to him and follows it up with an enzuigiri to him in the corner. He connects with a modified Bronco Buster on Penta and goes for a pin, but Penta kicks out.

New Day and Grayson Waller appear at ringside, but Penta flies to level Kofi Kingston and Waller. He sends Rusev crashing out of the ring to join them and looks to fly, but Rusev intercepts Penta with a right hand. Penta then catches Rusev with a Code Red and goes for a pin, but Rusev kicks out. Penta looks to fly off the middle, but Rusev catches Penta with the Machka Kick mid-air for the win.

    Winner: Rusev

    – Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker stretch backstage and we cut to a commercial.

    – LA Knight stretches backstage. Jimmy Uso comes by and asks if it was an accident when he hit Jey Uso. Knight tells Jimmy he's done playing nice and there is no "we" and whenever "we" happens he loses. Knight tells Uso if he wants to help, don't help.

Nikki Bella vs. Asuka (w/ Kairi Sane)

The bell rings and the two lock up. Nikki rolls up Asuka a few times, but Asuka kicks out each time. Nikki then levels Asuka with a dropkick, but Asuka lands a knee on the side of Nikki's head. Nikki responds with a right hand and a spinebuster to Asuka before the action spills out of the ring. Asuka pulls Sane in front of her, but Nikki sends Sane crashing into the ring apron.

Asuka gets Nikki back in the ring during the commercial break, but Nikki fires off right hands on her. Asuka levels Nikki with a clothesline and follows it up with a German suplex to her back from the break, then looks to fly off the middle rope with a senton. Nikki rolls out of the way, then lands a few kicks on Asuka and follows it up with another kick to her off the middle apron.

Asuka connects with a spinning backfist on Nikki, but Nikki sets up for the Rack Attack 2.0 on Asuka. Asuka escapes and levels Nikki with a roundhouse kick to her head, then follows it up with a second kick and cinches in the Asuka Lock on Nikki. Nikki taps out.

    Winner: Asuka

    – The Judgement Day is backstage and they congratulate Raquel Rodriguez on her win. Dominik Mysterio comes in and they ask where he was. He says he was preparing for his AAA title match. Finn Balor questions him about El Grande Americano and Mysterio says it's a lucha thing they don't understand and he storms off. Roxanne Perez goes to check on Mysterio... uh oh...

    – Nikki Bella walks backstage. Asuka and Kairi Sane approach her. Sane is trying to hold Asuka back and Asuka and Bella get in each other's faces. Rhea Ripley comes by and asks if there is a problem, Asuka says "yes" and then says she's the best women's wrestler around. Asuka leaves and Sane stays back and Asuka yells at her to go with her.

Bronson Reed (w/ Bron Breakker) vs. LA Knight

The bell rings and Reed sends Knight crashing into the corner spine first. He dumps him out of the ring, but Knight lands a jawbreaker on Reed using the top rope from the apron. Reed gets Knight up on his shoulders back in the ring, but Knight escapes and looks to level Reed with a pair of clotheslines back inside the ring. Reed runs over Knight with a clothesline, then lands an elbow on him and holds up the One Symbol. He then fires off shoulders on Knight's midsection in the corner, but Knight fires off right hands on Reed.

Reed levels Knight, but Knight catches Reed with an uppercut. Knight lands a kick on Reed through the middle rope on the outside, but Reed sends Knight crashing into the announce desk during the commercial break and clears it. He sends Knight crashing into the ring post face first, then stomps on Knight's chest and whips him into the corner spine first.

Reed sends Knight crashing into the mat with a powerslam back from the break, and Breakker gets in a cheap shot on him while the referee has his back turned. Reed dumps Knight back out of the ring, then flies off the announce desk to send Reed crashing into the timekeeper's area and dumps him back in the ring.

Knight looks to connect with a jumping neckbreaker on Reed, but Reed avoids it and looks to land a running senton on Knight. Knight moves out of the way and delivers an elbow drop to Reed off the top rope, then sets up for BFT. Breakker distracts Knight and sends him crashing onto the floor, opening the door for Reed to land a Death Valley Driver on Knight for the win.

    Winner: Bronson Reed

After the match, Breakker and Reed beat down Knight. Jimmy Uso comes to Knight's aid, but Breakker lands a spear on Jimmy and Reed follows it up with a running senton. Jey Uso's music then hits, but Breakker levels him with a spear and pulls Jimmy next to Jey. Reed looks to land a Tsunami on The Usos, but Knight hits him with a chair to level him. Knight helps Jimmy up, but Jey runs him over with a spear not trusting him. Jimmy questions what Jey just did as the show goes off the air.
