John Cena returns to Raw
The Champ is back! You can see The Greatest of All Time en route to his final WWE match, tonight on Raw!
— We are live! Wade Barrett and Corey Graves greet audiences at home as Triple H is waiting in the ring to say that while everyone may have their opinion on who the greatest of all time is, John Cena is the name that tops the list. He then introduces Cena, and Cena makes his way to the ring to a very warm reception from his hometown crowd.
Cena says the one question he's heard a lot since announcing his retirement is about who he wants to face. He says it's amazing how much the question comes up, but he's been waiting to hear one question. He says only one person has asked him it: What is his goal throughout the retirement tour?
Cena says he's excited for The Last Time Is Now Tournament and seeing everyone vying for the chance to say that they retired Cena, then says December 13 may be about closing a chapter but it's also about paving the road ahead. He says one of the things he asked for was to come to Boston one last time, then says while he doesn't book the dates or towns, that was one of his asks.
Dominik Mysterio's music cuts Cena off and he makes his way out. Dominik demands to know from Triple H (who has still remained in the ring) what he's going to do after Rey Mysterio confronted him last week, then says he doesn't care what Triple H has going on because it's not as important as him. Cena tells Dominik to calm down, but Dominik says it's not about Cena or Boston. He tells Cena to speak when he's spoken to unless he wants to be put down, but Cena responds by telling Dominik he would have a chance if it was in any other city. He advises Dominik to choose his next words carefully, then says if Dominik tries picking a fight with him tonight, he'll end up losing because it's the wrong place and wrong time. He then gives Dominik the chance to walk away, noting that it comes out of respect for Rey.
Dominik says Cena will need magic to touch him, then says he's better than Cena ever was in his prime. He says he would've beat Cena at any place and in any era, but Triple H intervenes and points out Dominik saying he would face Cena in any time or place. He makes a match between Dominik and Cena for the Intercontinental Championship official up next.
