Roman Reigns has not been asked to renegotiate his WWE contract, with Dave Meltzer reporting on Wrestling Observer Radio that performers at his level are not among those being targeted in the current round of deal restructurings.
The clarification became relevant after Reigns was quietly pulled from all four of his June Raw advertising appearances following WrestleMania 42, raising speculation online that a contract dispute might be behind the reduced schedule. That theory now appears to be unfounded.
Meltzer was direct about where the restructuring efforts are actually focused.
"Roman Reigns was not asked to renegotiate his WWE contract. None of the guys at that level, they're not being asked. It's the guys who, I'd say, again, without mentioning any names, they'd be guys who were at a higher level before than they are now. I think that's the best way to put it."
Bodyslam separately reported that TKO is asking multiple talents to restructure their deals due to a combination of production-value assessments and debt carried over from Endeavor's past. PWInsider's Mike Johnson also reported that a majorly pushed talent accepted a 50 percent pay cut when it was offered, though the performer's identity has not been confirmed.
Reigns' immediate focus is defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu at Backlash on May 9 in Tampa, Florida.
