NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo sits down with Naraku before Great American Bash

NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo sits down with his challenger at NXT Great American Bash, the mysterious Naraku.

    — Vic Joseph and Corey Graves greet audiences at home before throwing it to a video recapping some of the events of last Tuesday's show.

    — Zaria makes her way to the ring.

Zaria says she spent a long time living in Sol Ruca's shadow and says it felt like she forgot what the sun felt like, then gloats about becoming the new Women's North American Champion and says she did it all by herself. She says when people talked about the "NXT" women's division, they talked about people like Lola Vice and Ruca but now the Women's North American Championship is a mistake that will be fixed and says she won't be in the shadows any longer.

Kelani Jordan's music hits and she makes her way out to congratulate Zaria as the first ever Women's North American Championship. She thanks Zaria on her behalf for making the Women's North American Championship prestigious enough, but Zaria asks Jordan what she wants.

Jordan offers Zaria's some advice and says the fans currently cheering Zaria on will turn their backs on her eventually. She says Zaria will become overlooked and advises her to hold onto the Women's North American Championship very closely, then vents about still not having a shot at the NXT Women's Championship after herself and Kendal Grey have one win apiece against one another.

Kendal Grey's music hits and she makes her way out. She says she simply beat Jordan and now has a shot at the NXT Women's Championship at The Great Americano Bash, but Lola Vice's music cuts Zaria off when Zaria begins to talk and she makes her way out. She says Zaria has been a champion for a week, but tells her to get over Ruca. She tells Grey that she's beaten her, but Jordan gets in Vice's face for talking about Grey and all four women begin to fight.

Robert Stone appears on the entrance ramp, and Vice fills in the blanks by making the correct assumption that herself and Grey will be taking on Zaria and Jordan in a tag team match tonight.

    — We go to a video of Tony D'Angelo and Naraku having a meeting.

Naraku bows to D'Angelo as he approaches him and invites him to take a seat. D'Angelo does so and tells Naraku he knows how these kinds of meetings go. Naraku says he got their The Great American Bash contract from Robert Stone to sign, but D'Angelo says he knows Naraku is a good guy and says he did his research on what Naraku did in Japan. Naraku insists that the past is in the past, but D'Angelo says that while Naraku wants to do things the traditional way to protect his NXT Championship, he didn't do that in Japan.

D'Angelo says Naraku thinks he can win the NXT Championship himself at The Great American Bash, but he moved his entire life around the world for a title that's staying with him. He calls for Naraku to hand him the contract, and Naraku does so. D'Angelo notes that Naraku didn't sign the contract, but Naraku says he will in due time. D'Angelo then signs the contract.
