    Default Saturday Premiership Round-Up...

Newcastle United ended a turbulent week with a 2-0 win over Portsmouth, while Arsenal ended their poor run of form against Birmingham.

Graeme Souness was sacked by The Magpies following their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City, but under the guidance of Glenn Roeder and Alan Shearer they ended the week with a win.

Charles N'Zogbia fired the home side ahead with Shearer's second half goal breaking Jackie Milburn's goalscoring record for the club and securing the points.

In the evening kick-off, Manchester United held off stern resistance from Fulham to secure a 4-2 win over Chris Coleman's men.

Goals from Park Ji-sung and Cristiano Ronaldo put United two-up, but Brian McBride pulled one back with a fine header.

Louis Saha restored the home side's cushion although Heidar Helguson capped a thrilling first half by making it 3-2 before the interval.

Fulham pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but Ronaldo's second goal of the contest late on wrapped up the points for Sir Alex Ferguson's side.

A debut goal from Emmanuel Adebayor put Arsenal in front against Birmingham and Thierry Henry's 200th goal ended hopes of a Blues fightback.

Steve Bruce's men finished the contest a man light after striker Emile Heskey was dismissed late on for two bookable offenses.

The pressure on Middlesbrough boss Steve McClaren has increased following a 4-0 thrashing at home to Aston Villa with Luke Moore bagging an impressive hat-trick.

The visitors were two up after Kevin Phillips headed home, adding to Moore's opener, with the youngster netting twice in the second half to complete a superb display.

Sunderland battled bravely following Stephen Wright's early dismissal, although late goals from Dean Ashton and Paul Konchesky gave West Ham a 2-0 win.

Manchester City finished with ten men against Everton as Stuart Pearce's side went down 1-0 at Goodison Park.

David Weir put the home side ahead early and City's frustration boiled over late on when Stephen Jordan was sent off for collecting two yellow cards.

Andreas Johansson cancelled out Stelios Giannakopoulos' opener for Bolton as Wigan claimed a 1-1 draw at The Reebok.

Blackburn were brought down to earth following their thrilling 4-3 win over Manchester United with a 2-0 loss at West Brom.

An early goal from Kevin Campbell put the home side ahead with Jonathan Greening's superb volley sealing an impressive win for Bryan Robson's men.

Manchester United's clash against Fulham is an evening kick-off at Old Trafford.
