Who's more talented, Edge or Jericho?

Personally, this is a really difficult choice to make; both men are great athletes and entertainers. I'm breaking this down as I go along, so I haven't reached a decision yet.

In the ring...

Both men have what it takes to put on very solid matches, but Jericho's offense usually varies a little more. Both men can reach a very realistic and exciting level of intensity (As heels or faces), which makes for a great environment when watching them in the ring. Jericho is definately a total package superstar when it comes to his in-ring work. He sells well, he works well, and he's fun to watch. Then again, Edge does all that too...it's just that he's not as flashy as Jericho can be at times. This is too close to call for now.
Mre talkin on the breath talkin spots, then again both of them r competative here.
On the mic...

Both men really shine in this category IMO. Edge is a great heel, because he really comes off as a prick. There's something about the way Edge delivers his promos that can annoy even the smartest "smark". He's so arrogant that he comes off as if he's not trying to cut a good promo, but it works. It's hard to explain, so I hope everyone gets what I mean. Jericho, on the other hand, is great at being an entertaining heel. When Edge does that, he always does it with the intention of annoying the fans. When Jericho does it, he comes off as the a$$hole at the party who says funny phrases. It's not offending, just funny. That's entertaining, but a mark against Y2J as far as being an effective heel. I think I'd have to go with Edge on this one, because he knows the right things to say and when to say them.

In the end, I've come to the conclusion that while Jericho is as entertaining as they come, Edge is still more effective in the things he does. Jericho is more likable for me, but I recognize Edge as being the more talented of the two.

cant decide they are both awesome IMO. Edge has that arrogant kiss my ass i dont care if you like me additude which makes me like him. and Jericho is just awesome plain and simple.

Jericho has always seemed like a joke to me, I have never seen anything great in him, so I pick Edge by default. Although realistically he would still be jobbing on heat if he didnt have the Lita angle.

Jericho Definately I mean who can deny his Charisma and Mic skills. His technical wrestling combined with high flying techniques make for great matches

I agree on Jericho, he had great in ring skills, and also good mic skills. He had a good run in the WWE, wish they'd bring him back.

Nice thread. Very very nice. Although there was one word in the topic starter which IMO is very important. That was WHO. You can look at both of the superstars success in the WWE, but IMO that doesn't do any justice. I'll try and break it down.


In Ring Talent/Wrestling Talent:
Both Jericho and Edge are extremely talented in ring performers. and they have both proven it. Whether it was Edge in the TLC series, or whether it was Jericho against guys in ***** matches like when he faced Shawn Michaels, Chris Benoit, and The Rock. They have both shown a tremendous amount of skill. For me, I would have to say they are both equil in this field. Until one of them can pull off a career defining match which will be remembered for... ever, I can't choose which one would be the best here.

Mic Work/"Getting Over" Talent:
This here is where IMO Edge loses. We all know that Edge is a great heel at the moment. He's doing a very fine job, and has really stepped up his game. As for Jericho, I don't think we can argue with his success. The first night he was in the WWE he was involved in a very OVER segment with The Rock. That right there is saying something. Even after that, Jericho was constantly over with everything he done. Whether it was his cheap catchphrasis, his punning of other wrestlers, or his cocky attitude, the fans seemed to always love him. BUT... in the topic starter (as I stated) you said "WHO'S more talented, Edge or Jericho". Jericho became the First Undisputed Champion all on his own. Edge however, only got where he is today with the help of Lita. Anyone remember 2004? He came back as a face, and a few months in he was booed out of his hometown at Summerslam. Sure, he became a heel and got a little better, but IMO his real success in the WWE came when he was allied with Lita.


So for me, I say Jericho was more talented. I think Edge will have the better career. The only reason IMO why Jericho will never be as big as Edge is due to his size. But yea, as for who's the more talented. Jericho, hands down.
