Enter Sandman was played as the intro for the show, kind of interesting I thought.
Match 1: Steve Corino vs. Dustin Rhodes
Very much a match played to the old school southern fans. Dustin was introduced as the son of Dusty Rhodes. Corino ripped on the crowd before the match and did alot of heel stalling through out. One interesting spot had Corino put Rhodes in the abdominal stretch and stick a thumb in his butt (no joke). That same thumb was later forced into Corino's mouth for a huge pop and soon to be stolen by a WWE writer I'm sure. Rhodes eventually won the match with a bulldog.
Winner: Dustin Rhodes
Match 2: Jerry Lynn and D-Lo Brown vs. The Naturals
Lynn and Brown got a huge pop coming out. Started out faced pace with dives by both Brown and Lynn to the outside. I hadn't seen Brown in years and he was still pretty impressive. The match boiled into your classic face in peril with Lynn getting double teamed for most of the rest of the match. Finish came after D-Lo got the hot tag and cleaned house. Lynn didn't get much offense but did do his legdrop on Stevens who was between the ropes. Finish came when D-Lo Brown hit the Low-Down on one of them, I can't remember which now. There were some Boys and Girls Club kids sitting near us who were chanting huge for Jerry throughout the match.
Winners: Jerry Lynn and D-Lo Brown
Match 3: Team Macktion vs. Diamonds in the Rough
Young got on the mike before the match and basically said it was a waste for them to wrestle a team they already beat, and if they lost this match, they'd be working for free. Hermie Sadler got in the ring and made it a done deal, if the Diamonds lost, Team Macktion would get their paycheck as well. Very good match, my personal match of the night. Macktion was impressive and Young and Skipper did great as well. Lots of high flying and a very impressive double stomp from one of Team Macktion. Finish came when Young hit the Spinebuster and was about to pin him when Amy Dumas came out and hit Young with the DDT. One of the Macktion team hit Sliced Bread #2 for the win.
Winner: Team Macktion
Intermission time. I got to talk a bit to Steve Corino, he's a nice guy. One of the main reasons I came to the show
Enter Sandman plays again as the show starts up again. Next is the Wrestling Society X match
Matt Cross and Tyler Black vs. Human Tornado and Ruckus
Overall a fast paced spotfest showing off each member. Ruckus and Tornado recieved more of a pop. More like their indy matches than their WSX matches. Matt Cross hit a beatiful handspring suicide dive to the outside at one point. Finish came when Alter Boy Luke (or Luke Hawx I think was the name he was going by) came out and was hitting moves on everyone involved. Human Tornado took advantage and gained the pin over Tyler Black. Alter Boy Luke got on the mic afterwards and made a challenge for tomorrow night against all 4 participants in the match. No Vampiro despite being advertised.
Winners: Human Tornado and Ruckus
"Cowboy" James Storm vs. Petey Williams
I hadn't seen their TNA PPV matches but they worked well together. Storm ripped on a few ringside fans before the match. They both got alot of their signature spots in, including Petey standing on Storm's crotch singing the Canadian anthem. Good match overall, had a definate TNA match feel to it and was given enough time, Petey was very over tonight. Finish came when Storm thumbed Williams in the eye, blinding him. He then shoved the referee to Williams, who set him up for the Canadian Destroyer and then was Superkicked by James Storm for the win.
Winner: "Cowboy" James Storm
Main Event time, guess Lita wasn't wrestling tonight.
"Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner vs. Rikishi vs. ????
Rikishi and Steiner came out and had a face off, there was no third man. When no one came out Rikishi said "Screw the third man" and they locked up. They basically took turns backing each other in the corner. Hermie got on the mic and asked Earl Hebner if he had a third man. Earl said no and Hermie went to the back.
Steiner and Rikishi restarted and threw a few shoulder blocks at each other when Hermie came back to the ring dragging Eric Young with him. He received some "Don't fire Eric" chants. He stalled for a bit with Rikishi and Steiner just watching him and when he finally came in the ring, they took turns beating on him.
When Rikishi was about to do the Stinkface, more music hit. A big star you say? nope, it was Big Fat Oily guy. He came to the ring and did his dance spiel. Rikishi splashed him in the corner and did his Stinkface on him. Then Eric Young came back in the ring and Steiner overhead belly to belly suplexed him, and put on the Steiner Recliner for the win, all while Rikishi stood there and watched. After the match Steiner and Rikishi acknowledged each other and left the ring. Very disappointing with very little action.
Winner: "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner
