Match #2: "The King of the Mountain" Jeff Jarrett vs. Robert Roode


Robert Roode charges Jarrett during his introduction up on the ramp. Roode takes Jarrett down to ringside and is going to work on him. He lifts up Jeff and drops him throat-first across the fan barricade. Jarrett smashed headfirst on the apron. Roode picks up Jarrett for a piledriver but Jarrett reverses with a back body drop. He takes him around the ring and sends him into the rail.

We finally enter the ring and get the opening bell. Jarrett drop to holds Roode across the ropes throat first and then charges, leaps and lands across his back. Jarrett charges and slides outside and uppercuts Roode. He steps back on the apron and Ms. Brooks grabs his feet and trips him up. He goes after her rand Roode attacks him from behind. Back inside the ring now and Jarrett sent to the ropes. Roode tries a hip toss, Jarrett blocks and reverses into a backslide. 1..2… Roode kicks out. Roode then clotheslines Jarrett and goes for a pin but only two.

Roode to the top ropes, working the crowd. He leaps and Jarrett gets the foot up. Jarrett now sends Roode to the ropes and hits a snap slap and a two count. Two count for Jarrett. Roode locks on a sleeper hold, Jarrett reverses and slaps a sleeper on Roode. Roode reaches through his legs, trips Jarrett and slaps on a Figure Four.

Roode breaks it now mocks Jarrett by strutting. He goes to apply a second Figure Four. Jarrett grabs his head and schoolboy’s him. Two count. Jarrett delivers a right. Roode throws one at the exact same time. The both then hits the ropes and they hit a double clotheslines on each other. Both men are down for the count. Both men up now. Roode to the ropes and Jarrett hits a back body drop. Roode to the ropes and Jarrett lifts him straight up and kicks him low. Roode then rakes Jarrett’s eyes and climbs the ropes. Jarrett catches him and slams him off. Jarrett then applies the Figure Four. Miss Brooks jumps on the apron and distracts the referee. Roode starts to tap but the ref does not see. Jarrett relinquishes the hold to get the ref.

Roode removes the top turnbuckle cover. He then trips Jarrett and gets outside and yanks Jarrett toward the turnbuckle post so that he straddles it. Roode tosses a chair in the ring. The referee tries to take it away. They pull at each other back and forth a bit and the referee lets go. Roode hits himself with the chair on the recoil. Jarrett then hits The Stroke. The referee counts 1…2… Miss Brooks yanks him out and the referee ejects her from ringside. The ref is taking Miss Brooks up the aisle. Roode gets handcuffs and loads them around his fist and clocks Jarrett. He covers Jeff and the ref slides back in…..1….2….Jarrett kicks out! Roode gets the guitar. Winds up…referee takes it out of his hand. Roode shoves the referee he bounces off the ropes and recoils into Roode who gets bumped backward into Jarrett. Jarrett tries to apply the Stroke, Roode gets free. Jarrett single leg takedown, tries to apply the Figure Four on Roode. Roode kicks out and hits the Payoff. He then gets the pinfall for the victory!

Roode then says that last week he left Eric Young with a guitar around his head. Now he’s going to do it to Jeff. Jarrett then trips Roode and applies the Figure Four. Miss Brooks hits the ring and is about to clock Jarrett with the guitar when Eric Young hits the ring and trips up Miss Brooks and applies the Figure Four to her. Jarrett and Young release the holds and Roode and Brooks leave.
