I just saw the news a half hour ago and was in total shock. I didn't want to believe it at first... very very sad and difficult to take in.

Benoit was always one of my favorite wrestlers to watch, ever since his early days in WCW.

News reports are quoting authorities as saying the death of Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy, and son Daniel, is being investigated as a homicide. Furthermore, the Atlanta-Journal Constitution altered the paragraph of their article on the Benoit family deaths. The third paragraph of the article originally read: "Officials would not say how the family died, other than to say they weren't shot to death." The third paragraph of the article has been changed to read: "Officials were investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide." Furthermore, the lieutenant on the case, Lt. Tommy Pope, said the three were actually found at their home at around 2:30 p.m., not 4:00 p.m. like originally reported by the Atlanta-Journal Constitution. The lieutenant said results of autopsies were expected Tuesday.

Just saw another FOX news alert on the Benoit deaths. They are now saying that the police are treating the deaths as a murder suicide. They say that benoit killed his wife and child over the weekend and then killed himself. We will update as reports come in ..

I agree Hifo but I am just reporting what I see, I do not trust other wrestling sites with news at the moment lol. But this will be horrible but it should not take away from what he did for wrestling.

Stone Cold beat the shit out of his wife but no one remembers him for that and many other stories of wrestlers could be mentioned. This is benoits personal life, we should not mix the two IMO but ofcourse many will.

i really, really, really hope that this isnt a murder/suicide. i dont think i could believe it if thats what it is, i just dont see benoit as a person that would do that. so i hope that it wasnt that way.

What a life he has had.It is truly sad that he had to pass away so early in his life ................A legend in himself & a man of great respect.He was always & will always remain in our hearts.He is one person who gave me my favorite WRESTLEMANIA moment when He & Eddie held hands & raised hands together with their titles to show how thier destinies are entwined.
Sadly this really has been true..............................
Both started their wrestling careers almost together.They had their shares of ups & downs together in various promotions together before ending up together in WWE.They made their way up the ladder almost simultaneously from being cruiserweights to mid carders to finally getting the big ones respectively.& ironically Eddie died in 2005 & barely a year & Half later Benoit passed away.............................

According to a report on WAGA-TV, investigators believe Chris Benoit killed his wife and son at some point over the weekend, and then killed himself earlier today.

They reported first hearing from a concerned neighbor and that the three bodies were found in separate rooms.

Detective Bo Turner told the staion the case was being investigated as a murder-suicide, but it could not be confirmed until the evidence was examined by a crime lab.

Sources in the Fayette County Police Department are now working under the theory that Chris Benoit killed Nancy on Saturday, son Daniel on Sunday, and then killed himself earlier today.

Benoit was found dead in his weight room. Nancy was found dead in the lving room. Daniel was found dead in his bedroom, accordig t an unnamed source in the department.

Lt. Tommy Pope told ABC News "the instruments of death were located on the scene," but didn't specify what those were or where they were found. Pope said the department was not actively searching for any suspects outside the house.

None of this makes any sense...I have been thinking and this is a guy who wrestled on Tuesday, called Gregory Helms on Thursday to wish him well, and was going to be the ECW champ on Sunday, obviously being the figurehead leader of ECW. Nobody has anything to say about him but nice stuff...and if he could snap enough to kill both his wife and 7 year old son seperately, not together or by accident (that would involve a gun) but one at a time, you think he would have snapped in the ring in the past when a chop hit too hard or something...this is very confusing and just seems wrong...and he's this mentally or emotionally unstable and gives absolutely no sign of it at anytime???
And BTW, WWE shouldn't have said that it has been ruled a double murder suicide, because that is the conjecture and suspicion being reported and it can't be ruled anything until the autopsies happen tomorrow and forensic investigators have finished their investigation.
Even if he did do any of this, I did not know him in person and just knew his wrestling, ever since he tagged with Dean Malenko in ECW and he was the one of the greatest ever in the ring, and my personal favorite and I will always remember him and miss him.

It's a terrible tragedy, and I may get a lot of heat from you all for this, but if he did kill his wife and SEVEN year old child then himself, all "you will be missed" messages should stop immediatley. I am hoping these reports are wrong, but, if they are, I will mourn his wife and child, but I won't mourn him at all.

chris benoit was a great wrestler and person and he will gladly be missed. however as much praise as he deserves for his years of devotion and hardwork towards the wrestling business, all of you are overlooking what he did. he fucking killed his wife, and his son. what kind of man kills his 7 year old son? as many problems as he may have had and as much stress the wrestling business puts on someone, what he did was unpraisable. i respect benoit for a wrestler and hope he and his family r.i.p, but what he did was truly fucked up. (if reports are correct)

all arrows point in that direction as much as nobody wants to believe it. i dont think all the investigators would just randomly make that up. also who else wouldve done the murder? i doubt i woman couldve done it woithout a gun, and no way it was a 7 year old.
