Default Highlights from Christian Cage's Conference Call Today

TNA and Spike TV held their monthly media conference call this afternoon with Christian Cage. Here are the highlights:

    - On being 2 years in to his TNA run: He still finds it exciting that it's a growing company and loves to be a part of that. His favorite matches include his 6 sides of steel cage match with Rhino and his run with Samoa Joe.

    - On early footage included on his new DVD with Edge: Christian wanted to show the progression from being a rookie to a top star and that it isn't all plain sailing. He laughs at his early mic work. Christian said he was sent a list of features and matches management wanted on the DVD and he ironed out things he preferred.

Christian gets asked some irritating questions and admits that he likes Kanye West

    - NWA separating from TNA: He respects the NWA's history but thinks TNA is at the stage where they can carry their own title.

    - On AJ Styles role and being his mentor: Cage admits talking on the mic is daunting and difficult and that AJ has greatly improved and that because they are together they can bounce ideas off each other to make better interviews. "He's an unbelievable talented performer and will only get better."

    - Upcoming Movies: He plugs Dark Rising as a campy horror film and says acting is a lot of fun. He has more movies and other projects in the works.

    - Creative freedom: TNA allows him to be real hands on with promos and backstage stuff. Everybody backstage is real open and you never have to be scared to speak up.

    - The mix of WWE and TNA talent: Cage thinks it's important to have homegrown talent and talent that are recognizable stars. It helps give the rub to other stars. It helps to make new household names.

    - What's TNA's next step: Taking the PPV's on the road more often in bigger arenas and different cities. He thinks it helps the PPV's come across as a bigger deal.

    - Inspiration for the CC: Cage looked up to the Horsemen but feels his faction is unique and a different dynamic.

    - Bringing in new talent: Christian would love to bring in Giant Bernard aka A Train from Japan.

    - On Austin dissing TNA: He says he works for WWE, what do you expect him to say? But he accepts that Austin is an amazing talent and has authority to say what he wants but doesn't agree that TNA has no talent.

    - Steroids and Drug Testing: There is testing and all the steps are in place to run an effective system. He says it has been in place for sometime but because it's a private company little is openly revealed about it. They are continually improving it in the wake of recent media scrutiny.

    - On Tomko's improvement: In WWE he didn't get a chance to improve but he's a real student of the game and studies matches. Christian laughs and takes all the credit. He says he went to Japan to broaden his skills.

Christian snubs a New York Daily News schmuck for asking about Cyber Sunday match votes.

    - RVD to TNA: Cage says he would be very welcome in the locker-room and that RVD is one of his favorite opponents. He would be well respected be everyone and would bring in some star power.

He goes on to note that he would love to work with more X-Division stars but prefers being in the main event. He feels him and Joe have some great chemistry and although he love the big events he tries to steal the show every night.

He wraps up saying that he hasn't thought about a Union in wrestling but says it would be interesting to look in to.
