Just 10 players have indicated that they are willing to face Aberdeen on Saturday as doubts surface over insurance and future payment.

"As of today, we don't have a team for Saturday," said Elliot.

"I can't insist that the players play if they haven't been paid and I can't pay them on Monday either.

"Failure to play on Saturday would mean we are in breach of league rules and would leave us open to be fined and face other penalties.

"Unfortunately we are running out of time."

The Scottish Premier League are expected to confirm on Thursday whether they will permit the postponement of the Pittodrie fixture.

If that happens, Gretna could then pin their hopes on a big pay-day at home to Celtic the following weekend.
Things like this is football are very sad to see, Gretna before now have had a fairy tail story with 2 consecutive automatic promotions and I mean this season hasn't gone too well for them but they would go down and bounce back and then this comes along. To be perfectly honest I think it is a disgrace that only 10 players have volunteered to play the Aberdeen match, you help your club now and if you don't get paid for one poxy little match then that is just the way it is, it is simply buying the team more time for survival.
