Mexican National Welterweight Champ Sangre Azteca stated yesterday that he was very satisfied with his title defense against Dragon Rojo at Arena Mexico on Tuesday night even with a double countout finish. Azteca said that Rojo is a future star in the promotion and the match was great in his opinion thus proving that he is #1 in his weight class. It was Azteca’s 18th defense of the title in two years and Azteca said that he kinda underestimated Rojo due to his inexperience but he proved him wrong in the ring and showed that he had the desire and ambition to make it big. Azteca did say that he would’ve liked a better finish to the match but he would give him another shot and would like to team up with him in the future but he would continue his great 2008 into an even better 2009.

AAA 12/17 – Arena Xalapa (TV taping)
1. Lumberjack Match: Fabi y Mari Apache beat Cinthia Moreno & Tiffany
2. Gato Eveready/Oriental/Pimpinela Escarlata defeated Los Vipers Revolucion (Black Abyss/Histeria/Psicosis) by DQ when Abyss used a Martinete on Gato.
3. 3 Way Ladder Match for the AAA Tag Titles: Joe Lider & Nicho el Millionario beat Extreme Tiger & KENTA & The Hart Foundation 2.0 (Jack Evans & Teddy Hart) to retain their titles. Extreme Tiger had to be stretched out after Lider injured him using the ladder. This was called without a doubt the best match of the night.
4. Cuervo/Escoria/Ozz defeated Brazo de Plata/Laredo Kid/Super Fly – Electro attacked Super Fly after the match until Abismo Negro made the save. Abismo then reconciled with the tecnicos especially his friend Super Porky.
5. Zorro beat Chessman by countout. Hijo del Tirantes was helping Zorro throughout the match and then Charly Manson came out to distract Chessman leading to the finish when Chessman went after Manson but ate a dive by Zorro who made it to the ring before the 20 count.
6. Abismo Negro/Alan Stone/El Mesias defeated Electroshock/Konnan/El Padrino after Konnan fouled Mesias but referee Pepe “Tropi” Casas wouldn’t count the pinfall leading to Konnan going after him and Abismo getting a cradle on Konnan with a fast count by Casas. It then ended in a large pull-apart with the Black Family & Vipers running out then joined by the AAA army.
