About a week ago, my brother, who is 8 years old and autistic, was in our backyard at about 10:00 AM. He was out there just playing with his toys, kinda by the fence seperating ours and our neighbors backyard. We weren't outside with him, as we didnt feel the need to watch him closely because he was in OUR backyard. All of a sudden the neighbors dog busts through the fence and bites my brother in the face, ripping open his nose and forehead. He had to be rushed to the hospital, but didnt end up getting stitches. Now this dog has already bit two other kids, pulling one off his bike and tearing apart his leg.

Now thats not what pisses me off the most, the fact that a week after, the neighbors havent done anything to act sorry. They never asked how he was, or even said that they were sorry for doing it. How can you not even act like you care to a kid that your dog just mauled?? What the hell!?!

WTF?!?!?! That dog should've been put down after the first incident. My nan and her dogs were attacked right outside of my house and she didn't want the dog put down but it had to be. I can't believe action wasn't taken with the first attack!

Wow, im with Kirsty on this, here that dog of would have been put down straight after, doesnt say much for your neighbours, something really needs to be done about this dog, biting your brother on the face is bad enough, it could have done and stil could do worse

Thanks guys, and Kirst no he doesnt hate dogs now, we have two little dogs and he loves them to death, he loves any type of animal, except Peacocks after a little incident at the zoo

And the sad thing is, my brother has a veryhgih pain tolerance and never cries about anything. (good if I wanna smack him around ya know?? Just kidding) And when he got bit he was screaming, covered in blood saying he was gonna die, It was the saddest thing I have ever seen

I refuse to agree with killing the dog, he should just be given to people who can properly handle him and train him because it's awful that he'd bite the child's face and forehead. I hope he's doing well, that's something terrible but it's not the dog's fault for doing something that's natural to it but rather the idiots in control of the dog.

You can't re-train a dog once it's tasted blood. It will never stop attacking people.

It is possible to re-train a dog.... Just look at ex police dogs... They become docile family pets, after years as a police dog.

Also, dogs that have been trained to fight in illegal dog fights - they can be rescued, cared for until they are well, and then can be a well behaved pet.

I don't believe the dog should be destroyed. The dog is following it's natural instincts, and hasn't been trained properly. The owners are the ones to blame, and should not be allowed to have pet dogs. Something should have been done after the first incident to get the dog taken away from those people.

They are probably not acting sorry, because if they did, it would be like admitting guilty to shirking their responsibilities as a dog owner out loud.

Some dogs that you get from a rescue center can be retrained especially if they have had a hard time before,If you make them part of the family and look after them then they will look after you.

You need to sue them for every penny you can get. Their home, their cars, their bank accounts...they'll be sorry when you take everything from them. Get a good lawyer, and use the money to buy your brother a pony. He deserves that much. If somebody's dog bit my child, I'd make sure they were left with nothing. And I can't believe I'm saying this, but the dog needs to be put down. Especially if it's going out of it's way to bite people. No that dog is obviously either vicious, or psychologically damaged and putting it to sleep would be best for it, and the community.
