We start off with a look back at Bound For Glory, where AJ Styles overcame the odds to win the TNA World Title. Tonight, AJ has to defend against Bully Ray in an immediate rematch that was ordered by TNA President Dixie Carter!
Speaking of Dixie, she comes out to the ring to kick the show off in the middle of a big celebratory setup for AJ Styles, complete with a WELCOME HOME AJ STYLES banner in the background and pictures of AJ all over the ring. Dixie says she might have made a little mistake in the way she treated AJ Styles, and wants to welcome back the man who literally overcame all the odds to win the title, and she invites AJ Styles down to the ring. Dixie encourages the fans to cheer for him and says she spent the last six weeks motivating him to victory after this slump he's been in.
She's here to help him, and AJ said he was going to make her pay, but she is ready to pay because it's all good. He gets a fancy private dressing room that's almost as good as hers, it's got lobster, cavier, and fine wine (she says she knows he doesn't drink, but she loves the stuff). She gives him a watch that she knows she gave a certain ex-General Manager who shall remain nameless, but she bought it off Craigslist and now it's AJ's, and then she unveils a convertible and tells AJ to picture his new long hair blowing through the wind. She asks AJ if he's ready to move forward, and AJ asks if she expects him to be on Team Dixie, but he sees that it's all a manipulation by Dixie Carter and he's not buying it.
This isn't what he meant by making her pay, and this redneck is a truck guy so that car won't work for him, and AJ has earned everything in this business, and he doesn't want his own dressing room to separate himself from the boys. This mess could have been solved months ago, but she bet against him and she lost. Dixie sees that he is still a little upset about Sunday night, and she may have stepped out of line a little bit when she called for the rematch for the title tonight, but AJ doesn't have to do that tonight because they can get on her private jet, get out of this godforsaken town, and go somewhere fun. WILL AJ GO TO THE RANCH??? Dixie just wants AJ's agreement that they can work through this together, and if he does that, she'll cancel the rematch tonight.
Bully Ray's music hits and the former champion comes out with Brooke in tow. AJ shoots him a dirty look as we go to commercial, and we'll find out what Bubba has to say...NEXT!
We're back and Bully Ray says he didn't come all the way here to see Dixie give away his title shot, but AJ says to shut his mouth because he's the champion, Bubba's the challenger, and he'll get his turn. AJ says that if Dixie thinks for a second he's getting on her private jet to go to Dixieland, she's dumber than he thought she was. Maybe the rematch clause applies to people who are under contract, but he's not. However, he came here to defend the title because that's what a champion does, and he's going to beat Bubba in this ring and there's nothing he can do about it.
Bubba tells AJ that he's not fighting Dixie Carter, he's fighting him, and the one word that sums up his victory at Bound For Glory is lucky. AJ got lucky because there's no way in hell a kid like him could ever beat a man like him. It was all Earl Hebner's fault because he kicked out after the Spiral Tap and AJ knows it, but that old bastard with his two blind eyes didn't see it and kept counting, because that's the only way AJ could have beaten him. Bully's tired of hearing himself talk, so he's going to tell him how it's going tonight: he's going to beat the piss out of him, he's going to beat him, he's going to take the title, and he's going to send AJ back to his ugly wife and three ugly kids because AJ is a boy, and Bubba is a God, and if God was a bully, he'd be him.
AJ says not to be concerned about his family because Bubba's family, Aces & Eights, couldn't help him at Bound For Glory, and they won't help him tonight. He's going to beat Bubba, he's going to go celebrate with the fans, hold the belt up, and ask Bubba if he knows who he is. Bubba suckerpunches AJ with an uppercut to the ribs, then he takes one of the AJ posters and bashes AJ with it before picking up the easel it was on and beating on AJ with it before trashing the rest of the set. Bubba goes to powerbomb AJ, but the lights go out and Ken Anderson's music hits! Anderson runs in and goes face to face with Bully Ray, who hesitates before taking a swing at Anderson and leading to a slugfest between the two men. Anderson gets the advantage and goes nuts unloading on Bubba, battering him until we go to commercial.
We're back, and Ken Anderson is still in the ring and says that he really missed the fans. The crowd cheers for Anderson, so he asks if that means they missed him too, then says that he really, really, REALLY missed Bully Ray. He asks the fans if they think he missed him, then shows off how strong his neck feels. Anderson says he's been sitting home for the last couple of months watching the product and sees what Bubba's been doing, says he's been sick and tired of it, and asks the fans if they're sick and tired of it. The fans cheer affirmatively, so he says that since everyone's sick of Bubba...oh wait, Dixie comes back out with Atlas Security and says that he's not welcome in her ring, and tells Atlas to put the cuffs on him. Anderson goes "You're into handcuffs?" and fights a couple of the security guys off before voluntarily letting the last two cuff him and lead him to the back.
We go to Mike Tenay and Taz, and they tell us about how we'll hear from Kurt Angle a little later tonight. Speaking of Kurt Angle, we see him arrive at the building before going to a video package showing how Lei'D Tapa helped Gail Kim win the Knockouts Title at Bound For Glory. Gail and Tapa come out to the ring, and we'll see them in tag team action...NEXT!
Gail Kim & Brooke vs Velvet Sky & ODB
Tenay points out how ODB lost the Knockouts Title without getting pinned as she drags Brooke into the ring and pummels her. ODB with the Bronco Buster in the corner, then Brooke tags Gail and rolls out to the floor. ODB goes after Gail, but Brooke drags ODB under the bottom rope and slams her onto the floor. She rolls ODB inside and Gail begins unloading on her and takes her down with a single leg, then Brooke tags in and gouges at ODB's face. Brooke takes ODB a bit too easily while dishing out punishment and gets shoved across the ring and tags in Velvet Sky, who cleans house on Gail and hits her with a running neckbreaker for 2. ODB spears Brooke and they go out together to the floor, and the referee is distracted by Gail trying to bring a chair into the ring and doesn't see Lei'D Tapa come in and knock Velvet out with a big boot. Gail drops the chair and comes back inside to cover Velvet for 3.
Winners: Gail Kim & Brooke
The Bromans are backstage and are ready for the biggest celeBROtion ever, and they go nuts spraying their hair. Okay.
Ethan Carter III vs Dewey Barnes
Okay, so they're just going to set Carter up with tomato cans because his "Aunt Dee" is stacking the deck. Okay. Carter easily manhandles Barnes, then drills him with a running Yakuza kick in the corner. EC3 stops to smirk at the crowd, then slowly picks him up...and takes a series of jabs and running forearms from Barnes. Barnes hits a missile dropkick and makes a cover, but doesn't even get a 1. Carter quickly gets ahold of him and hits the front DDT for the win.
Winner: Ethan Carter III
That's a nasty move, and another easy win for Carter, who gets a mic and confirms that he is indeed EC3, a Carter...and the world needs them.
Kurt Angle will speak...NEXT!
We look back at Magnus defeating Sting at Bound For Glory and then blowing him off afterward, then we go to a meeting earlier today between the two of them where Magnus apologized for not giving Sting the respect he deserves. Sting wonders if he passed the torch or lit a fire under Magnus, but Magnus says it's Sting's world and he's just living in it, then shakes Sting's hand.
We take another look at this past weekend as Kurt Angle declined his induction into the TNA Hall of Fame to set a new standard, then promptly lost to Bobby Roode. Speaking of Angle, he comes out to the ring with a big crazy smile on his face to address the fans. He says that this past weekend was tough for him to forget, because for as nice as it was for his peers to say all those nice things about him, but he has plenty left in the tank and he'll gladly accept the honor when he's ready to hang it up. His match with Roode was one of the most physical of his life, he did take a toll on his body, and he did knock himself out with that last move. Bobby Roode comes out and gets right up in Angle's face and says it's pathetic to hear him come up with excuse after excuse.
The reason he turned down the Hall of Fame induction was because he knew he couldn't beat Roode, and it was a wise choice because Roode beat Angle right in the middle of the ring. He lived with a feeling of failure for two years after he lost to Angle in the main event of Bound For Glory 2011, but now it's Angle's turn to have that feeling of failure because the It Factor defeated the Olympic gold medalist. Angle tells Roode that he may be one bad SOB, but he's not better than Angle. Angle says he's not going to make any excuses, but he'll challenge Roode to a match right now. Roode looks fired up and asks Angle if he wants to wrestle him right now, then he tears his jacket off and says he'd love to wrestle Angle right now...but he can't. Actually, Angle can't because of a bit of information he hasn't shared with everyone. Roode shoves a doctor's note at Angle and reveals that Angle tore the cartilage in his knee and isn't cleared to wrestle tonight.
As much as Roode would love to kick his ass again here tonight, he's simply not allowed. Angle says Roode is right, he's not medically cleared to wrestle...but the doctor never said anything about a fight. Angle jumps Roode and unloads on him with right hands, but Atlas Security jumps in and pulls them apart, standing between the two men while having to hold them back from killing each other.
Bully Ray is backstage and asks Knux and Wes Brisco if they see how selfish Ken Anderson is since he didn't come back to make amends with his brothers, he came back for revenge on him. Anderson only cares about himself, this is what he's tried to tell them all along, and he needs the two of them to go make sure Anderson doesn't post bail, and while they're doing that, he'll take care of the redneck and get his title back.
Dixie Carter is on the phone yelling at someone because she needs some unspecified thing done like yesterday while her assistant tries to hand her a water bottle.
The Bromans come out with the TNA World Tag Team Title and have a whole party set up in the ring, complete with champagne, chips and dip, and their vrey own DJ. Robbie asks us if this is a party or what bro, then informs us that Sunday night was the biggest night in bro history. The crowd chants that they can't wrestle, and Jessie shows he's learned how to react to stuff like that by holding his title belt up. James Storm & Gunner interrupt and come out to the ring and kick the DJ out, then steal the Bromans' alcohol and protein bars. They let Robbie keep his little sister's skinny jeans, and the other thing they'll let them keep is the shortest tag title reign in history, because they're beating them next week. Bad Influence comes out and Kazarian says they don't know what in the Wide World Of Sports is going on, but they see two bros with one brain, a drunk cowboy, and a pretend Viking, but they're the best team in the business because they want a title shot so they can become the World Tag Team Champions Of The World a third time. Daniels says the problem he has is that they have the wrong type of beverages for a real party because everyone knows beer is for the lower class, and only pretentious posers drink champagne. If you're going to drink a gentleman's drink, you celebrate with an appletini. Storm, takes the appletini and takes a sip, says it doesn't taste like beer, and tells Gunner to get rid of it. Gunner throws the appletini in Daniels' face, and a brawl between the three teams breaks out. Joseph Park and Eric Young run in and Daniels smashes a wine bottle over Park's head, but Park is busted open and...well, we know what happens next. Park morphs into Abyss, chokeslams Jessie, and chases Bad Influence to the back.
AJ Styles & Bully Ray are backstage, and they're...WALKING! The title rematch is up...NEXT!
We're informed that Kurt Angle and Bobby Roode will face off next week in another Bound For Glory rmatch, and then...IT'S MAIN EVENT TIME!
TNA World Title Match: AJ Styles vs Bully Ray
Bully Ray interrupts Jeremy Borash during introductions and kicks him out so he can introduce himself, but AJ attacks him in the middle of the introduction and jump starts the match. AJ is a house of fire as he takes the fight right to Bubba, gets a snapmare and hits the indy kick. AJ with the sweet ass dropkick right in Bubba's face, and he wastes a lot of time playing to the fans before going back after Bubba and charges right into his elbow. Bubba unloads with a series of jabs, but stops to grab his junk before hitting the Dusty elbow and AJ hits Bubba with the Pelle kick and rolls him up for 2. Bubba catches AJ coming off the ropes and pops him up for either a backdrop or a flapjack, and I couldn't tell which because AJ basically came down on his face and started grabbing at his shoulder as we go to commercial.

We're back, and Bubba is doing the Hogan ear thing, but leaves himself open to a flurry of punches from AJ. They hit a double clothesline and both men go down, but Bubba is up first and cranks a bearhug onto AJ. Mike tells us not to miss next week's Halloween themed episode of Impact as Bubba misses an elbowdrop, then AJ and Bubba trade chops before AJ just rips Bubba's head off with a clothesline, hits a spinkick, then springboards into the ring with a forearm for 2. Bubba blocks a fireman's carry, picks him up in one of his own, and hits a fallaway slam for 2. Bubba goes to the second rope, AJ nails him and goes for a top rope Frankensteiner, Bubba shoves him off and goes for a senton, but AJ moves out of the way, heads out to the apron, and goes for the springboard 450. Bubba saw it coming and moves out of the way, then covers AJ for 2. Bubba sits AJ on the top rope, AJ tries countering to a tornado DDT, but Bubba shoves him off and tosses AJ right on top of the referee, who goes down in a heap and doesn't see Bubba tap out when AJ catches him in the Calf Killer. AJ releases the hold and goes to check on the referee, but Bubba gets ahold of the chain and nails AJ with it. Bubba hits the Bubba Cutter and makes a cover, but AJ gets the shoulder up at 2. Bubba picks the chain back up, but Anderson runs back out, snaps Bubba's neck over the top rope, and AJ gets a crucifix and pins Bubba to retain.
Winner: AJ Styles
Terrific main event! Bubba looks shocked and stares at Anderson, who charges back down to ringside to trade punches with Bubba. Atlas Security tries to separate them, but doesn't have much luck as they keep going back after each other.
We go backstage to Dixie Carter, who is holding a contract for AJ Styles that she says is full of Dixie Carter's money. She says she's going out to the ring, and orders us not to go anywhere. Whatever you say, Dix!

We're back as Dixie Carter is in the ring saying that she thought AJ Styles wanted the things she offered him before, and she spent the whole night talking to her attorneys, and she has a contract for him that is full of everything AJ could ever want. Because Dixie is so sweet, (she holds up some keys) she'll give AJ the keys to that car so he can take the Mrs out on a date. She wants AJ in TNA, she wants him to sign the contract, and she wants to put this mess behind them and move forward. AJ takes the contract and hesitates as Dixie tells him to trust her, AJ nods and says that this is an amazing contract...by a horrible human being who uses people to pad their bank account to buy fancy cars and million dollar homes on the blood and tears of every man and woman who has ever stepped into this ring. She didn't believe in him months ago when he didn't have a contract, so as far as this contract goes (he crumples it up, wipes his ass with it, and tosses it on the mat in front of Dixie). He says he's not done yet because it wasn't about the money, because money can't fix her problem. She doesn't respect him, the title, or the boys, and he says that he'll make her pay because the World Title is his title, and he's taking it from her because he's leaving since the people deserve a champion, and he's taking it to them. Dixie tells AJ it's not his to take, so he comes back, takes the keys, and says he'll take the car. She yells after him where the hell he thinks he's going, and tells him not to get in the car. He gets in the car anyway, fires it up, and speeds off while holding the title belt over his head.
