Strikeforce Welterweight champion, Nick Diaz has come out and proclaimed himself the best “pound for pound” fighter in the world, also saying a fight with current UFC Welterweight champion, Georges St. Pierre would be good for him.

Speaking via MMAFighting.com, Diaz said:

“I’d like them to see that I’m the best mixed martial arts fighter pound for pound in the world. I think it’s a good fight for me, Georges St-Pierre.”

“I was actually in line to do the same stuff he did, I made it to the UFC before him but I was just really young and inexperienced when I got there. So all those fights that I didn’t win, I actually think that I won and on account of that I would have been in line to fight GSP now and I think that I would be in his position, That’s my opinion.”

Diaz will be in action this weekend at DREAM 14 in Japan against the Japanese legend, Hayato Sakurai. He is then looking at a suspension for his part of the Nashville brawl last month.
