Just started on the 10th and last book in Roger Zelazny's Chronicles of Amber series.
Finished Roger Zelazny's; Chronicles of Amber books earlier today, so it's time to start on something new.
Christopher Stasheff's " The Warlock In Spite of Himself " series was started in 1969 and ran until 2004, with 14 books total. I got all of them waiting on my shelf, lol. The series is known for mixing science and fantasy, and some of it might be a bit outdated, but I don't think that will affect my views of the books.
^^ That was a funny romp, but as I was expecting, a bit outdated. An epileptic robot as a sidekick was pretty weird, but I guess there are reasons revealed later. Basicly the story centers around Rod, who works for a company on old Terra (Earth) to make sure that every planet in the universe are following democratic rules and laws. He ventures to a uncharted planet named Gramarye, which are stuck in medieval times, believing in elves, witches, evil spirits etc. Rod is then believed to be a Warlock, since he knows so much about science, an art that is very unknown to the inhabitants of Gramarye.
So, guess it's time to start on book number 2, which is the shortest in the series it looks like. The story behind this book is pretty weird as well, as Christopher Stasheff wrote the original script for this book back in 1971, but after release he was so dissatisfied, that he re-wrote the whole book over 10 years later. And that is the book I'm reading right now:
That was a pretty quick read, and now I'm kinda curious about how his first draft was to be honest. Just started on the 3rd book of the series an hour ago.
