Midsummer is not just a big thing in Sweden. It's also a big thing in Norway, although not celebrated in the same way. In Norway there are usually parties at the beach, and big bonfires (Gathered by the townspeople) made up by planks, old furniture etc. But, there are also some rites and rituals when it comes to Norwegian midsummer celebration. And two of the most significant are:
A Bouquet of Seven Wild Flowers
According to folklore, if a girl went out and picket seven different wild flowers on midsummer's eve and put them under her pillow, she would dream of her husband to be.
A Glimpse of Luck
It is said that if you manage to get a glimpse of a Sankthansorm (Lampyris noctiluca) Norway's only firefly (And they are pretty rare) during the midsummer night, it would bring you luck.
