    Angry AEW Dynamite Live Coverage - August 10th, 2022




    AEW Dynamite

    This week, it's Quake by the Lake! Darby Allin vs. Brody King in a Coffin Match. AEW Interim World Champion Jon Moxley defends his title against Chris Jericho.




    Your announcers are Jim Ross, Taz, Excalibur and Tony Schiavone and it's Quake By The Lake!

    Coffin Match
    Darby Allin vs. Brody King


    Allin attacks in the dark. He mule kicks King and whacks him with the skateboard. The skate board is thumbtack laced and King is bleeding profusely from the get go. Allin charges and King with a hard right hand on the floor. He sends Allin into the table but Allin charges right back, sending King into the apron and into the ring. Allin with an eye gouge and a Code Red off the 2nd rope. King gets rolled to the floor. Allin tries to drag him to the coffin but King runs him into the rail. King sends him into an opposite rail. King rubs the blood from his eyes and sends Allin into a 3rd rail as we go to commercial.

    Back to live action, King has set up some tables at ringside and lays Allin on one. King misses a splash through a table. Both men are down. Lights go out. Malakai Black and Buddy Murphy stand before King. Allin goes for a lope any way but gets tripped by Julia Hart. Matthews and Black attack and King cannonballs Allin though a table. Minneapolis wants Sting. Matthews sets up the coffin and Sting emerges. He goes to work on Matthews with a baseball bat. Now it's Brody King's turn. Sting throws his bat at Black, daring him to attack. Black walks away. He whispers something to King as he leaves. Sting chases them away. Darby with a cannonball to the floor. King sends Allin into the rail and slams him on the steps. King throws a Gonzo bomb but Allin with a chain and and punches King with it. Allin chokes King and he collapses into the coffin, ending the match.

    Winner: Darby Allin


    Backstage:
    We get some backstage words with Jon Moxley, ahead of tonight's match with Chris Jericho.

    Chris Jericho is backstage with some words for Jon Moxley.


    Tornado Match
    Andrade El Idolo & Rush (w/Jose the Assistant) vs. The Lucha Bros (w/Alex Abrahantes)


    Yeah, we will do bullet points for this one. lol

    - All 4 slug it out at the outset
    - La Faccion Ingobernobles stomp the Lucha Bros in opposite corners
    - JR mentions that, without tags, Rick Knox can't mess this up.
    - Penta and Rush exchange chops
    - Kick by Penta, he gets tripped by Andrade
    - Fenix with a tope suicida to Andrade followed by a tope con hilo
    - Andrade knocks Penta out of the way and dropkicks Fenix as he dives off the ropes
    - Andrade pounds Penta. Penta rolls out
    - Tandem tope con hillos by Andrade and Rush as we go to commercial
    - We're back and Rush with a dropkick to Fenix. Penta follows up with a superkick party
    - Fenix with armdrags and a back stabber
    - Splash by Fenix for 2 on Rush
    - Springboard splash by Fenix for 2
    - Lucha Bros with superkicks.
    - Lucha Bros with tandem tope con hilos of their own
    - Fenix misses a frog splash, Andrade scores a 2
    - Andrade accidentally kicks Rush but Rush with a dropkick to Penta
    - Double knees to Penta by Andrade
    - Rush powerboms Fenix and Penta stunners Rush.
    - Destroyer by Penta on the apron to Andrade
    - Andrade kicks Fenix off the top
    - LFI with headbutts. Penta's mask gets ties to the bottom rope
    - Shotgun dropkick to Fenix by Rush, Penta unmasked himself to save Fenix
    - Jose took out Alex
    - Rush with the bulls horns to Fenix
    - Hammerlock DDT by Andrade to Fenix and he scores the pin

    Winners: Rush & Andrade El Idolo


    Backstage:
    he Young Bucks are with Dark Order. They thank Hangman Page for last week and apologize for their past actions. They ask Page to be their partner in the Trios championship tournament. Page politely declines as he won't oppose Dark Order. Page will not be in the Trios Tournament at all. I wonder who the Bucks will pick.


    Jungle Boy Jack Perry has joined the booth.


    Luchasaurus vs. Anthony Henry

    Henry attacks but Luchasaurus with a clothesline and a German Suplex. Enziguiri by Henry. Fossilizer by Luchasaurus and he scores the pin.

    Winner: Luchasaurus


    On the big screen, Christian Cage cage mocks them. Perry runs away from the booth to back stage. Security holds him back. Luchasaurus takes out security.

    Backstage:
    Miro is mad at Malakai Black. Julia Hart tries to comfort him. He shuns her, saying only one woman can control him.


    Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh and Sonjay Dutt come out. They say they are not done with Wardlow. Wardlow comes out and accepts the rematch challenge. FTR joins him and hit the ring. Dutt and co take off calmly. Lethal tries to attack but gets Big Rigged. Lethal slinks off.

    Tony is with the JAS, sans Hager, Guevara and Conti (their marriage is none of my business). Jay chokes out a stagehand.


    Aaron Solo vs Ricky Starks

    Solo attacks before the bell but Starks with a clothesline. Solo with a clothesline after Kole Carter distracted Starks. Solon with a boot in the corner. DDT by Starks after he launched off the ropes. Solo counters Rochambeau. Starks with a spear for the pin.

    Winner: Ricky Starks

    After the match:
    Nick Comoroto attacks with a chair, Starks with a spinebuster. Solo attacks Starks but gets thrown into Comoroto. Backstage, Powerhouse Hobbs is not happy.


    Backstage:
    Billy Gunn and the Ass B...Gunn Club are in the back. Billy is not happy with them losing last week. Stokely Hathaway offers comfort to the Gunns. Danhausen says he'll see them Friday.

    Backstage:
    Best Friends and Orange Cassidy are in the back. They get interrupted by Ari Daivari, Slim J and Parker Boudreaux. Ari wants to manage Cassidy. Cassidy rejects the idea.


    TBS Championship
    Jade Cargill (c)(w/Stokley Hathaway and Kiera Hogan) vs. Madison Rayne


    Shove by Jade, Madison fires back. Jade blocks a whip and kicks Madison in the gut. Madison with a dropkick and Jade rolls pit. Hurancanrana on the floor by Rayne. Spear by Jade back in the ring as Hogan distracted Rayne. We go to commercial.

    We're back and it's Jade with a cover for 2. Jawbreaker by Rayne.Rayne with forearms. Kick by Rayne. Rayne to the top. Blockbuster for 2. Guillotine into a DDT by Rayne for 2. Rayne rolls Jade up for 2. Pump kick by Cargill. Jade blocks the Cross Rayne and nails Jaded for the pin.

    Winner: Jade Cargill

    After the match:
    Athena attacks Cargill, she's pulled out by Hogan. The champion is not happy.


    Backstage:
    Thunder Storm is backstage with Schiavone. Toni Storm is the official #1 contender for the World Title.


    AEW Interim World Championship
    Jon Moxley (c) vs. Chris Jericho


    No "Judas" tonight. It's "Lionheart" instead. Jericho with a middle finger, Moxley with one of his own. Lockup/armdrag by Jericho. Another lockup/Armdrag by Jericho. Test of strength, headlock by Jericho into a takedown. Moxley scissors out. Shoulder blocks, they trade slaps. Jericho with a stretch and he fires elbows. Chops by the 2. Snapmare and a kick by Moxley. Jericho responds in kind and tears off Moxley's earring. Springboard dropkick byJericho as we go to commercial.

    Jericho flips off the crowd and Moxley clotheslines him. Mox is bleeding heavily from the ear. Back breaker by Jericho. Lionsault by Jericho for 2. Moxley transitions into an armbar. Jericho escapes and applies an armbar. Moxley transitions into an ankle lock, Jericho with upkick escape. They trade German Suplexes. Jericho nails a hurancanrana for 2. Figure 4 around the post by Jericho. Moxley with a takedown into an STF, That blood is not coming from the ear, its the forehead. Jericho escapes and applies the Walls of Jericho as we go to commercial.

    We're back and Moxley is still trapped in the Walls. He makes the ropes. Jericho with kicks. Moxley evades a springboard dropkick. Moxley with a diving sledgehammer off the top to the floor. Back in the ring, Jericho scores a 2 with a clothesline of his own. Jericho removes the padding from the corner. Sammy Guevara, from the crowd, throws a wrench into the ring. Jericho nails Moxley with it and scores a 2. Rear choke by Moxley. Jericho throws him off and scores a 2 with the Judas Effect. Jericho gets sent into the corner and Moxley applies the Bulldog Choke. Jericho escapes and applies the Lion Tamer.

    Jericho is now bleeding. Moxley breaks free and rains elbows. Rear choke by Moxley. Jericho has no choice but to tap.

    Winner: Jon Moxley

    After the match:
    Sammy Guevara and Jake Hager attack. Kingston, Castagnoli, Yuta, Santana and Ortiz make the save. The rest of the JAS hit the ring. Just Jericho is about to nail Moxley with the AEW belt, CM Punk comes down and clears the ring.

    Punk and Moxley face off. Moxley flips Punk off and walks off.

    We go to credits.

    Thanks for helping with the LC. I had zero interest in watching it. I decided at the last minute that I wasn't going to watch it. I decided to watch the new Elvis movie instead.

    No problem Elvis was ok. It was interesting to see the relationship between Elvis and the Colonel. He certainly did screw him over. Always have loved watching Elvis perform his Las Vegas show.
