Angry AEW Dynamite Live Coverage - November 2nd, 2022

    AEW Dynamite

This week, Saraya & Britt Baker sit down with Renee. Darby Allin looks for pacyback on Jay Lethal. Chris Jericho defends his ROH World Title against a former ROH Champion. Plus, a 3-way for the All-Atlantic Championship: Champion Orange Cassidy vs. Luchasaurus vs. Rey Fenix.

    – This week's show kicks off inside the Chesapeake Arena in Baltimore, MD. where the commentators welcome us to the show.

    Darby Allin vs. Jay Lethal

This one starts immediately with Darby Allin attacking Jay Lethal as he makes his way down the ramp, but that doesn't work out for him as the veteran slams him into the ring apron with Allin's taped ribs. Allin fires back though by jumping off the timekeeper's table to attack him, and he then clotheslines Lethal over the top rope and out of the ring as Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh then make their way to ringside.

Singh blocks the potential dive from Allin, and that allows Lethal to regain control as he sends Allin into the steps. Lethal then places him under the barricade and applies the Figure Four Leglock, inflicting further damage. The two then begin fighting on the ring apron, but Lethal catches the leg and then stamps down on the back of the calf before launching him backward onto the apron with a German release suplex.

The attack of the ribs continues as Lethal drops Allin down onto the steps again, then inside the ring Lethal spikes him down hard onto his shoulder. Allin then smartly rakes at the nose, and this allows him to hit the Coffin Splash off the middle rope, but when he tries to follow up, Lethal kicks him in the corner and then flattens him face-first. Lethal then goes for the King's Elbow but it is reversed with a crucifix pin attempt, and the Lethal Injection is then reversed as well with Allin putting him into a choke submission.

Allin then releases the move and transitions straight into a Stunner, but as he goes to the top rope, Lethal rolls out of the ring. Allin then launches himself out of the ring, and he hits Singh but just bounces off him, yet the official throws Singh and Dutt out. However, with the official distracted a man with Sting's jacket and mask appears, hitting Allin with a baseball bat. Allin then heads back into the ring as Lethal connects with the Lethal Injection for the win.

    Winner: Jay Lethal

    – After the match, the masked figure is revealed to be Cole Carter from The Factory, and the four men beat Allin down until Sting's music hits... but he doesn't appear and instead Jeff Jarrett does as he nails Allin with a guitar! He tells Allin he just got a lesson from the Last Outlaw, as Allin bleeds. Jarrett says Sting has become his biggest weakness, and he explains that wherever the Jarrett's went, they left an impact. He assures when he has got done with this place, there will be bodybags, and peple can choke on that.

    – Jon Moxley is then shown backstage, addressing his opponent tonight. He says if Lee Moriarty has any revenge boiling in him, now would be the time to bring it to the surface as he wants him to be violent.

    – A video package is shown of The Elite winning the World Trios Championships, but someone then edits it to be replaced by the Death Triangle footage, as the three men are then taken out of the AEW graphic.

AEW Championship Eliminator: Jon Moxley (C) vs. Lee Moriarty

The two men start things out by exchanging holds and kicks, but Jon Moxley then drops his opponent with a big right hand, which he follows with more punches in the corner and then a bite for good measure. Lee Moriarty then uses the ropes to break things up as he takes a cheapshot at Moxley before charging into the corner with a couple of uppercuts as he then sends the champion into the ring post shoulder first.

The fight then continues outside the ring with Moriarty hitting a bodyslam as he then charges the champion into the steel stairs. Back in the ring, Moxley fights back, but The Firm member wastes no time regaining control with a PK. Moxley once again fights back, throwing his opponent across the ring as they trade blows until Moriarty comes in with a springboard to take him down.

The upcoming star then lands several elbow strikes straight after, and he then brings out the classic Blackpool Combat Club move by stomping down on the face of Moxley, and he then focuses on the arm of Moxley but he reverses with a cutter. The two then throw hands once again, with Moxley then slapping his opponent around, but he lands some of his own, catching Moxley with a knee strike.

He hits a back suplex but the champion pops up straight away and gives him one back, as Moxley then looks for a submission only for Moriarty to reverse with the Bordercity Stretch. Moxley gets out with a pinfall attempt and then hits the hammer and anvil elbows before locking in a submission to force a tap out.

    Winner: Jon Moxley

    – Post-match Ethan Page hits the ring and lays out the AEW World Champion as Page is confirmed for an upcoming eliminator tournament.

    – Renee Paquette is with Saraya as it is explained Britt Baker didn't turn up, despite this being a scheduled interview with both women. Saraya claims she is used to that as she knows what it is like to be a star, but Baker doesn't care about anybody but herself, the division, or anything in Saraya's opinion. Meanwhile, she had to wrestle the same day she was hit by a car and had to build divisions everywhere, and she believes that Baker should have been lucky to have this interview at all.

Paquette wants to know why she's back and why AEW, and she thinks it is a rebel company and you see amazing faces join the company, she wanted to be part of that. The former WWE Superstar compares it to a motorycle club and you just want the leather jacket.

She thought it was perfect and the division could used some help to give more, even though she stresses the division was doing fine anyway, but Saraya thinks she can help take things to a new level for the company moving forward. Paquette then asks about her medical situation, and whether or not she can wrestle, and the Englishwoman says she will save that answer for next week because there is one more doctor that she needs to consult on that matter, seemingly hinting about the Baker herself.

    – Tony Schiavone is backstage with William Regal, and he says after last week it showed MJF has potential, but he has a long way to go before being a true villain. He doesn't think potential will help him be a champion when he has to face a real demon in Jon Moxley.

    – The Acclaimed make their way out with Max Caster saying they're ill with the wordplay, and they didn't get a cake because it's not in Billy Gunn's meal prep plan as he also takes a shot at Elon Musk in the opening promo. Anthony Bowens says Sneaky Swerve damaged Billy Gunn's fingers and now he can't scissor, but he has seen it taking over the world, and he scissors the cameraman.

Caster reveals gift number one for Daddy Ass, which is The Acclaimed foam scissor fingers. This is so that when a snake breaks your hand, you can still scissor! He then says that it is true that AEW stands for Acclaimed Every Wednesday. Bowens believes it is a fact everyone loves The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass as he asks which fans want to give him a gift and Caster heads to the floor. He takes a sign from a fan which is a big pair of scissors with a birthday hat on them.

Bowens then reveals the next present, which is a trophy for being the World's Greatest Daddy. Bowens says he had guests planned but two canceled at the last minute and the rest weren't happy he didn't go to the reunion, which is a nod to the recent DX segment. Bowens then showcases a certificate of adoption for The Acclaimed, they have both signed it, but before Gunn can, his own sons Colten and Austin appear.

They ask if their invitation was lost in the mail, and they got him a gift... which is a big boot from W. Morrissey. He and The Gunn Club then jump the three of them inside the ring until FTR's music hits to make the save. They grab hold of the titles and slowly hand them to the champions.

    – Britt Baker is interviewed by Tony Schiavone, and she says she wasn't showing up to their party as she is sick of the conspiracy. Jamie Hayter just wants to wrestle, and Baker agrees as she tells AEW to find them a tag team to face.

ROH World Championship Match: Chris Jericho (c) vs. ???

Chris Jericho says after Claudio Castagnoli took a tainted victory against him it made him mad, and now he is ready for an open challenge against any former ROH champion. The mystery opponent for him is... Colt Cabana!

The men shake hands to start things as Cabana then refuses to let go as he shoves Jericho into the corner and begins pushing him, as he then drops Jericho with a shoulder tackle several times. He continues his attack with several chops, and Jericho then opts to bail out of the ring, but the challenger follows and keeps up the attack. Jericho fights back and then looks to get on the top turnbuckle, but Cabana then picks up Jericho on his shoulders and the two men then spill to the floor as Jericho takes a hard landing.

Cabana nails an elbow and he then starts slamming him onto the turnbuckles, but a distraction from Daniel Garcia allows Jericho to hit a springboard dropkick. Back inside the ring Jericho continues his attack as he then poses with just one foot on him for the pin, but Cabana kicks out. He then fights back himself, dropping the champion and following up with a splash in the corner.

He goes for a moonsault but Jericho scouts it and pushes him onto the top turnbuckle before getting him on his shoulders, but he reverses with a victory roll, only for Jericho to kick out. Cabana starts throughing hands himself, but as he looks for the elbow, Jericho rakes the eye, only for Cabana to then lock in the Billy Goat's Curse. He then goes for the Superman, but Jake Hager then pulls away his arms, while Cabana hits a moonsault outside the ring to both men. Cabana then looks to put attention back on Jericho, but as he hits the ropes he's met with a Codebreaker.

Winner and still ROH World Champion: Chris Jericho

    – On Jericho's way to the back his faction then grabs Ian Riccaboni as he snaps his glasses and mocks him until Castagnoli runs out to make the save, with Bryan Danielson, and Wheeler Yuta joining in.

    – Backstage Paquette interviews Rey Fenix, as he claims tonight he will be the double champion tonight, but PAC interjects and says if Fenix wants revenge, the hammer can be the golden ticket. He says it is something for him to think about.

All-Atlantic Championship Match: Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Luchasaurus vs. Rey Fenix

Before the match it is announced the winner gets to face their dream opponent on Friday.

Luchasaurus gets targeted to start, with a double dropkick from his opponents sending him to the floor. Orange Cassidy hits his unique kicks to Rey Fenix, and he then sends him across the ring with a hip toss, but the masked man responds with one of his own, following it up with a big DDT, which gets a near fall. The big man then gets back into the ring with a double shoulder tackle.

He then charges into each corner to take out his opponents, as they then get hit with a double clothesline. He slows the pace down, but continues to keep each man down, going back and forth between them. However, a Stundog Millionaire slows him down as Fenix hits a superkick upon his landing, as Cassidy then connects with the Orange Punch after Fenix kicks him in the face again.

The two then dive out of the ring but Luchasaurus catches Cassidy, throwing him into the steel stairs as he then Chokeslams Fenix through the timekeeper's table. The champion tries to fight back but he gets pump kicked up the ramp, and he catches the attempted Orange Punch. He then attempts to Chokeslam him off the apron, but Jungle Boy appears and attacks him with a chair, as he then runs and attacks him off the ramp as they drive themselves through a table!

PAC then appears with the hammer, handing it to Fenix, but he throws it down to the floor, refusing it. However, back in the ring Cassidy almost catches him with a roll-up, yet as Fenix gets out and rolls into a mid-air attack, he is dropped with the Orange Punch as the champion retains.

Winner and still All-Atlantic Champion: Orange Cassidy

PAC then attacks Cassidy after the match until Katsuyori Shibata appears alongside the rest of Best Friends, and PAC rolls away to avoid confrontation. However, Shibata then points at the title, and Cassidy hands him the contract for the dream match, making it official for this Friday.

    – Swerve In Our Glory are shown backstage with Rick Ross, and Keith Lee says he hasn't heard from his opponent. He points out the recent times Swerve Strickland has been cheating, and Strickland says he will be honorable, and next week they will do an eight man tag team match, as he makes a bid to win over his partner again. He and Ross joke around, and they all end up toasting a drink together.

TBS Championship Match:Jade Cargill (c) vs. Marina Shafir

The in-ring match then begins but Vickie Guerrero and Nyla Rose appear and they decide they are doing commentary throughout the match in a bid to distract Jade Cargill. Meanwhile, when it comes to the match itself the two women are brawling outside the ring, with the champion dominating Marina Shafir. She then heads up the ramp and almost gets counted out but she makes it back.

The TBS Champion wastes no time dropping Shafir with a huge pump kick which she follows up with Jaded to retain her title.

Winner and still TBS Champion: Jade Cargill

    – Meanwhile, Kiera Hogan attempted to grab the TBS Championship from Rose but is unable to do so as she knocks her down, with Cargill talking trash to Hogan on her way to the back.

    – A video package is shown for the House Of Black, with the three men being shown in bags as a voice asks if they have given up their faith so quickly. Julia Hart ends up burning, burying, and putting them in water, and glimpses of the three resurecting are shown, with the voice of Malakai Black being heard asking his father for forgiveness.

ROH Television Championship Match: Samoa Joe (c) vs. Brian Cage

Brian Cage starts out hitting a couple of big shots, but Samoa Joe then drops him to the floor with a huge running shoulder tackle. The challenger gets fighting straight away with several big uppercuts, but the champion comes back with jabs and chops of his own, taking Cage into the corner. Joe then launches himself into the corner, following it with an enziguri as he then chops Cage to the spine as he follows with an elbow drop.

Prince Nana then gets on the apron to distract Joe, and that works as Cage is able to begin the attack himself with kicks to the mid-section, and then a spinning kick, dropping the champion with a clothesline shortly after. Cage then gets Joe over with a German Suplex, but it isn't enough to get the job done here. Cage then knocks the champion to the floor and launches himself over the top rope, wiping out the veteran.

Cage spends too long posing which allows Joe to hit some jabs, a kick and a senton combination, and that brings a near fall for the champion. Cage then brawls his way back and then drops from the top turnbuckel with the elbow, but Joe is able to kick out at the last second. Cage then pushes himself again, lifting up Joe with a pumphandle slam, dropping the champion face-first.

He looks for the discus lariat, but Joe avoids it and looks for the Coquina Clutch, but then Cage breaks free and hits the discus lariat himself, with Joe once again having to kick out. Joe escapes Cage's next plan, and while Cage then tries to reverse the Coguina Clutch again, Joe smartly uses his other hand and the submission is in for the win.

Winner and still ROH Television Champion: Wardlow

    – After the match The Gates Of Agony are on hand to jump Joe until Wardlow makes his way to the ring, with The Embassy having to retreat away. However, while he focuses on them, Powerhouse Hobbs appears and drops the TNT Champion with a Spinebuster, standing tall with the title to close the show.
