Last week, Jade Cargill complained about beating everyone in the U.S. and wanted competition in Canada.
Fans started speculating that it could be LuFisto, The Bunny, or Taya Valkyrie. Then came word that Valkyrie finished up with IMPACT Wrestling.
It wasn't Valkyrie that answered the challenge for the TBS Championship. It was actually Nicole Matthews, who just made her return to the US wrestling scene last weekend. Matthews didn't get a televised entrance and was squashed in just 43 seconds.
Cargill cornered Renee Paquette and said, "you're Canadian, right?" before giving her the Kiss of Death.
"Wera Loca" came down she Cargill asked if that's all Canada had to offer and stood face-to-face with the champion. Valkyrie promptly put Leila Gray in the "Jaded". Cargill had to be held back from getting back into the ring.
After the segment, Tony Khan tweeted that Valkyrie was All Elite. Fightful Select reports that the free agent may have signed with AEW as far back as February. She still has several dates in April for MLW and intends to make those dates.
Valkyrie will make her in-ring debut this Friday on AEW Rampage.
