AEW President Tony Khan has denied the claim that talent from his promotion have to pay their own way on the road.

On Twitter, a fan asked Dave Meltzer whether AEW wrestlers have to pay for their own car rentals and hotels, or if the company covers this.

Meltzer responded by stating that while overseas travel is covered by AEW, expenses in the U.S. are expected to be covered by the wrestlers.

Responding, Khan denied the claim, stating that while this may be the case for other companies, it is not true for AEW.

The AEW President added that the promotion invests millions each year to cover the expenses of wrestlers on the road.

Khan's response earned a response from AEW referee Bryce Remsburg, who confirmed TK's claim as accurate.

Remsburg added that wrestlers, along with all staff, have their expenses covered, including hotels, flights, and shuttles to/from the arena.

The AEW official said that this extent of hospitality is "unprecedented" in professional wrestling history.

FTR's Dax Harwood responded to Resmburg, stating that no company in or out of wrestling has taken care of him the way AEW has.

Matt Hardy responded to Remsburg's tweet, saying that AEW's way of paying for talent expenses is "absolutely unprecedented".

Madison Rayne, who signed with AEW in August of last year, said that from a female perspective, she appreciates that a security team is always nearby when she is being taken to and from arenas.

Rayne added that Khan's investment in travel expenses "speaks to the integrity of AEW leadership."
