On Friday, Davey Richards abruptly retired from pro wrestling after domestic violence allegations made against him became public.

Several promotions cut ties him, as did the Team Ambition wrestling school. These actions happened before Richards announced his retirement.

Richards had been working for MLW as an agent/producer, but he finished with them last month. According to a report from Fightful Select, Richards was supposed to work with them longer, but they were trying to distance themselves from him after "a pattern of odd behavior."

Several MLW wrestlers spoke with Fightful to tell them that some of Richards' recommendations for their matches were "puzzling."

In more odd behavior, Richards told NWA that he was contractually available to wrestle. It turns out this was not the case, but MLW and NWA came to an understanding and allowed him to wrestle. He also wrestled Sami Callihan in IMPACT Wrestling.

Richards also claimed that AEW had contacted him to face Bryan Danielson. Fightful reports that while Richards had contact with Sonjay Dutt, AEW told MLW that Richards wasn't planned. They opted for Timothy Thatcher instead.
