Following Thursday’s post on his Instagram story that was later removed where he called Dave Meltzer a liar and Chris Jericho a liar/stooge after noting that Jon Moxley pitched the quick loss on Dynamite before their All Out encounter, Fightful Select as a big update regarding CM Punk.
It was believed that if it came down to where talent had a “Moxley or Punk” situation, they would side with Moxley as Punk is very aware of the heat on him. He reportedly is aware that there would be a possibility of talent walking out should he return.
“Some of the heat has certainly died down since All Out 2022, but there's plenty that still remains.”
The report noted that there were other talent who were present when the brawl between Punk & Ace Steel and The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks) after the All Out media scrum happened.
As previously reported, MJF and Chris Jericho were among the other names there or near the brawl. Fightful noted that there was a production employee was struck with a chair during the brawl.
Also, Punk and Omega reportedly had a conversation right after the brawl was broken up, where Punk told Omega that the issue wasn't with him. Omega was composed after the brawl.
Punk’s status with AEW is still unclear, but he remains under contract. AEW and Punk have had some contact as some close to Punk claim the former World Champion has spoken with or had a couple of meetings with Khan. They were supposed to have a meeting in February before it was delayed, “supposedly due to Jerry Jarrett's funeral.”
While at one point it was believed Punk wanted AEW to buy out his deal without a non-compete, in recent weeks, those close to Punk believe “was open to returning to AEW, and even wanted to." Several people claim that Punk has expressed some form of regret for an aspect of what happened in general.
