Rumored Buyers Interested in Bringing Back Stephanie McMahon After WWE Sale

Stephanie McMahon could be resuming her duties with WWE soon enough if the right company purchases the promotion.

Following her father's retirement last July, Stephanie was appointed WWE's Co-CEO (with Nick Khan) and Chairwoman of the Board.

Stephanie's appointment came shortly after she announced that she was stepping down from her WWE duties to spend more time with her family.

Upon her father's return to WWE in January of this year, McMahon announced that she was stepping away from WWE and has kept away ever since.

Stephanie McMahon hasn't been with WWE in nearly three months but her return could be around the corner.

Numerous sources who spoke to PW Insider Elite said that rumored buyers have shown interest in bringing back Stephanie.

Stephanie brought "a lot of positivity" to the company and the company's progression under her and Nick Khan was also played up

It is unclear what role the 46-year-old businesswoman would take if she chose to return to WWE under new ownership.

One source at Disney said, "these companies are doing their due diligence, they're following the news cycles, regardless of their public levels of interest."

After her departure in January, it was reported that Stephanie and her father struggled to work together, with Nick Khan being their 'go-between' guy.

The report adds that Vince McMahon is open to stepping down from WWE for the second time if it is in the company's best interests.

Virtually every source connected with a company rumored in the purchase of WWE has said that Vince remaining involved would bring trouble.

The belief is that McMahon being involved would negatively affect the sale price, leverage, and the value of the WWE brand moving forward.

Sources who spoke to PW Insider added that hosting WrestleMania 39 in LA in the midst of a potential sale and rights fee renewals was a smart move by WWE.
