Angry Update on Don Callis's Head Injury From AEW Dynamite

It was a surprise to AEW Dynamite viewers on March 29 when Callis was seen bleeding badly. He was involved in a backstage segment where he got attacked. Callis went to "Hangman" Adam Page to apologize and shake his hand when Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, and Claudio Castagnoli ambushed Page. After they beat down Page, Moxley landed a forearm strike to the face of Callis.

While fans may have thought Moxley's strike caused Callis to bleed, it has been reported that it wasn't the case. The Wrestling Observer's Bryan Alvarez shared that Callis hit his head against a lighting rig as he fell.

He said that "...He had to go to the hospital, and he was there pretty much all night and had to receive a bunch of stitches. I was told it looked like he got hit with a hatchet, just this giant deep gash." He noted that Callis, fortunately, doesn't have a concussion.

It seems AEW is preparing to have The Elite go against The Blackpool Combat Club somehow. Page and Moxley have had a rivalry for several months since Page returned from a concussion he suffered from Moxley. They traded wins, and it seemed like the feud was over when Page defeated Moxley at AEW Revolution on March 5 in a Texas Death match. However, the story has grown into The Blackpool Combat Club leaning towards being heels and going after Page and The Elite (The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega).

"Hangman" has split from being in The Elite faction, but it seems AEW is building up the moment when they get back together. Bryan Danielson returned at AEW Dynamite on March 29 to join the Blackpool Combat Club attack on Omega after his match with Jeff Cobb. Fans may finally get "Hangman" and The Elite on the same page as they go against The Blackpool Combat Club in a faction feud. It's unclear if this feud will lead to a match for Double or Nothing on May 28.

Matt Jackson is currently dealing with a torn bicep injury but hopes to avoid surgery. Fans may not get The Elite reuniting with Page immediately, but AEW is slowly building to that great moment.
