MLW has taken a big hit. Unfortunately, their biggest star has been sidelined with an injury and that’s Alex Hammerstone.

Hammerstone has been making waves for MLW as he is considered to be one of the best wrestlers in today’s business, but he will be out of action for the foreseeable future.

The top star was injured in the War Chamber match that aired on Tuesday night during the MLW Underground program on REELZ. Hammerstone left the match early due to the injury.

According to a new report from Sean Ross Sapp at Fightful Select, Rickey Shane Page had to “adjust on the fly” during the match when Hammerstone was injured. This caused the bout to go short. This included the finish and planned post-match angle to be cut.

Page got a lot of credit backstage after the bout and with the promotion for doing his best to salvage the bout the best way he could to make things work. Page was brought into the promotion to not only wrestle, but also serve as an agent.

Major League Pro Wrestling ended up filming an Alex Kane and Davey Boy Smith JR angle to help make up for the time lost. Those in the promotion praised the production crew and talent for making it work.

It was added that, “the fear was Hammerstone tore his groin. However, it appears the injury wasn’t as extreme as feared. He’s day-to-day and was able to work an angle at the Battle Riot tapings.”
