Mercedes Moné was present at the most recent tapings for IMPACT Wrestling, mere days after losing the IWGP Women's Championship.

Moné debuted for New Japan Pro Wrestling in January of this year at Wrestle Kingdom 17 and captured the title the following month at Battle in the Valley. Her reign as IWGP Women's Champion ended at STARDOM'S All-Star Grand Queendom event this month when she lost the gold to Mayu Iwatani.

During the most recent tapings for IMPACT Wrestling, Trinity Fatu, formerly known as WWE's Naomi made her debut for the promotion. During her segment, Fatu was confronted by IMPACT Knockouts World Champion Deonna Purrazzo, who won the vacant title this month at Rebellion.

The tense face-off between the two was interrupted by Jordynne Grace, who reminded all parties that she has the next title shot guaranteed. Grace will face Purrazzo for the IMPACT Knockouts World Championship at the upcoming Under Seige event.

Photos of Mone sitting in the crowd at the TV tapings have surfaced online. The former Sasha Banks also shared her view of Fatu's debut for IMPACT.

Moné later shared a photo of herself and Fatu embracing following the latter's debut.

It's fitting that Mercedes made the trip to Chicago to see her friend (and former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion partner) debut, given that Fatu traveled to Japan to watch Moné debut at Wrestle Kingdom in person. Moné will compete at least once more for NJPW as part of the upcoming NJPW Strong Women's Championship tournament.
