The talented but controversial Tessa Blanchard has signed a multi-show deal with XPW, according to an announcement from the promotion.

Blanchard's first show for the promotion will be at the Broken, Beat & Scarred event that will take place on Saturday, May 27, in the Heart Ball Room, in Newark, New Jersey. Blanchard's match will be her first in-ring appearance for any promotion since dropping the Warrior Women's Wrestling Championship to Kylie Rae in September 2020.

The event will follow on from XPW's recent Killafornia event, which saw XPW King of the Death Match Champion SHLAK defeat Drake Younger in a No Ropes Ladder Death Match in the main event.

For Tessa Blanchard, being able to compete in the United States again is quite the victory for the former IMPACT Wrestling World Champion. The daughter of Tully Blanchard, Tessa had been virtually blacklisted following several allegations of bullying and racism made against her in 2020. These allegations came mere hours before Blanchard's historic IMPACT World Championship win,

While Blanchard did sign with WOW - Women of Wrestling, her time with the promotion did little to improve her image, despite reports that the show would be a 'rehabilitation' project for her image. Blanchard allegedly tore apart indie wrestler Samantha Sage during a promo that many wrestlers on the roster felt went too far. At the time, one source implied that Blanchard would struggle to find work in the U.S. stating "If you are a fan of Tessa, you'd better learn Spanish."

Last month La Rosa Negra, who made the initial complaints against Blanchard in January 2017, shared a photo of the two, and it seems the pair have made amends.
