There have been several delays, conflicting reports, and fan speculation regarding the release of AEW Fight Forever. It seems that the long wait for the game is finally coming to an end.

The game was officially announced in November 2020 and was initially expected to release in 2022, but plans changed when it was delayed. The release date still has not been announced, although the promotion has released some gameplay trailers. The game is set to be rated T-Teen, and had to tone down some of the gore and blood in order to be able to reach that rating. We previously reported that the promotional materials of the game were finished.

Now, Mike Straw of Insider Gaming reported that he's hearing that the release window is being planned for the two weeks surrounding this year's Forbidden Door pay-per-view (June 25 in Toronto).

He reported that e had heard June 29 is a potential date but seemed doubtful as games don't typically release on a Thursday. It is to be also noted that it is rare to see pre-downloads available before a release date is even confirmed.

With this timeline, you can expect an announcement by AEW coming sooner than later.

This news comes only a day after a Twitter user noticed that achievements for Fight Forever had been posted on the XBox store; it has since been confirmed the game is available to pre-install on XBox consoles.

Early testers of the game reportedly noted that the play-style is similar to that of the acclaimed WWF No Mercy game. It is intentionally distinct from the WWE 2K series. Evil Uno shared with Fightful in November last year that the plan is for a single release of the game with ongoing updates.

Chants for the game were recorded by AEW during an event in April 2022. Although it was previously mentioned over a year ago that the cut-off date for including the day-one roster had passed, it is unclear if that has changed as the game experienced delays.
