Liv Morgan may undergo surgery that would take her out of action for months due to her recent injury.

Morgan was unable to defend the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships alongside Raquel Rodriguez on last week's Raw, despite being advertised for a match against Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green. It was announced last week that the titles have been vacated due to Morgan's injury. New champions will be crowned in a four-way tag-team match on the May 29, episode of Raw. That match will see Green & Deville face Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler, Bayley & IYO SKY, and Rodriguez and a partner of her choosing.

Morgan's injury took place during the May 12, episode of SmackDown, where she and Rodriguez defended against Bayley and Dakota Kai. It was in this same match that Kai also suffered an injury. During the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez noted that Morgan is dealing with a shoulder injury. While not confirmed, it is entirely possible that she will require surgery, which would force her out of action for months.

Morgan and Rodriguez captured the titles during the April 10, episode of Monday Night Raw. The two dethroned Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus, who was filling in for Lita, who had been attacked backstage (later revealed to be by Stratus.) Morgan and Rodriguez successfully defended their titles against Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville on TV and at WWE live events. WWE has not issued an official statement on Green's condition or a potential surgery at this time.
