One of the premier tag teams in the world, Aussie Open, have signed with AEW. Earlier this year, they surprised fans by tweeting that they were free agents and at that moment, had zero bookings.

One half of the tag team, Kyle Fletcher, had an excellent showing just minutes before against Orange Cassidy for the AEW International Championship.

Tony Khan tweeted after the match that "they're one of the top teams in the world, and now it's official Aussie Open are ALL ELITE!" He put over Fletcher's match and told Mark Davis to get well soon.

On Sunday, Fletcher stood in a ring at NJPW Resurgence to confirm that his tag team partner, Mark Davis, is injured. There had been speculation that he was injured since Fletcher had been competing solo and Davis wasn't by his side.

Fletcher stated that it's unknown how long Davis will be out. Therefore, they relinquished both their IWGP Tag Team and STRONG Tag Team Championships.

Fightful Select reported earlier on Wednesday that it's believed that Davis is dealing with a meniscus injury. They also reported that Tony Khan paid for Davis' surgery.

During the New Japan Cup tournament, Fletcher and Davis wrestled in singles competition. They proved that while they are a top tier tag team, they are excellent singles wrestlers. Fletcher will be proving himself as a singles competitor for the time being.
