IMPACT Wrestling will host their first-ever 8-4-1 Match at the upcoming Against All Odds event.

Against All Odds will take place from the Ohio Expo Center and State Fairgrounds in Columbus, Ohio, on June 9. The 12th event under the Against All Odds name, the show will feature IMPACT World Champion Steve Maclin defending his title against Alex Shelley. It was at IMPACT Under Srige that Shelley won a six-way match to become the number one contender.

Shelley's Motor City Machine Guns partner Chris Sabin will also be in action as he will challenge IMPACT X-Division Champion Trey Miguel. The pair faced off at Under Siege in a match that saw Miguel retain, albeit after blinding Sabin with stray paint while the referee's back was turned.

On Twitter, IMPACT Wrestling officially confirmed their newest match type, the 8-4-1 Match. The match will begin as an eight-man tag team match, pitting Bully Ray, Jonathan Gresham, Heath, and Nick Aldis against Mike Bailey, Moose, PCO, and Rich Swann.

After the eight-man tag team match is finished, the winning team will advance into a fatal four-way match that same night. The winner of that match will become the number-one contender for the IMPACT World Championship. The winner of the 8-4-1 Match will receive their title shot at IMPACT Slammiversary. This year's Slammiversary show (the 21st Slammiversary overall) will take place on July 15, at the St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
