    Default TNAS Announcement revealed!!!!

    TNA's Big Surprise Revealed

As it turns out, TNA actually had two surprise. After the main event, Jim Cornette came out to the ring to make a major announcement. Cornette said that starting on Thursday, November 16th, TNA goes two hours in prime time. Cornette then said that that wasn't the big surprise. He then shows a pre-recorded segment showing Kurt Angle work out in the ring. Kurt Angle is TNA's major announcement. Jeff Jarrett looks stunned in the ring as fans chant "Angle, Angle" as the pay-per-view came to a conclusion ends.

Why the fuck is Angle in TNA? WWE could of given him the break he needs and then returned and plus he still has a contract with WWE as far as we were all lead to believe. What the fuck happened to MMA? Even the president of UFC was talking about him joining. Im soooo confused.

Ive lost a big amount of respect for Angle joining TNA.

IMO Angle is an absolute goof, instead of earning more money for his family and performing in places like Madison Square Garden he would rather perform in a Studio. WWE made Kurt Angle and angles turned on them. Now were going to have to listen to Kurt say OMG WWE SUCKS FUCK YOU I DONT BELONG IN ECW IM TO GOOD FOR YOU, LONG LIVE TNA!

I am curious how the 'No Compete' clause in his contract will affect this? If he had that in his contract.

I think that it was a great move for Angle. Now he only wrestles once or twice a month, compared to 2-300 days a year with the WWE. He was dying in the ring and if you think that being with the top company or making more money or selling out Madison square Garden is more important than Angle's health, than you may really need to question what you think are important priorities in life. I want Angle to see his daughter graduate highschool and get married. I couldnt give a damn less if that meant that he never wrestled again or if it meant he decided to be the guy that walks around picking up the elephant waste at the circus. I support Angles choice to go to tna if that is what it takes for angle to insure he is still alive in 10 years.

Doesnt matter how many matches he wrestles, the fact that he needs a break is what matters. Angle will still risk himself if he wrestles in TNA. He is still very injured prone and very unhealthy.. physically.

Default TNA Issues Press Release Regarding Kurt Angle Signing, Move To Primetime

TNA Issues Press Release Regarding Kurt Angle Signing, Move To Primetime

TNA issued the following press release upon the conclusion of their No Surrender PPV:

TNA WRESTLING MAKES TWO MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENTS
    Signs Kurt Angle
iMPACT! Moves To 9 PM on Spike TV Starting Thursday, November 16

Nashville, TN, September 24, 2006 – Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling announced today that Olympic gold medalist and pro wrestling megastar Kurt Angle has signed exclusively with the company. It was also announced that TNA iMPACT! will move to 9:00 PM ET/PT Thursdays on Spike TV starting November 16.

“This has been a huge week in our company’s history,” said Dixie Carter, president of TNA Entertainment, LLC. “The signing of Kurt Angle and the move of iMPACT! to 9 PM are both significant benchmarks in the growth of TNA. The history of pro wrestling is marked with events that change the landscape of the industry and I believe that this week will be viewed in that context.”

Angle, a 2-time NCAA Division I champion and a 3-time NCAA Division I All-American, capped off his illustrious amateur career by winning a gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Olympics, competing with two cracked vertebrae, two herniated disks and four pulled muscles.

On November 14, 1999, Angle made his on-screen debut with the World Wrestling Federation. Since then, this 5-time WWE World Champion has held every major championship belt in WWF/E. He was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2003.

“Kurt is considered the greatest wrestler in professional wrestling,” added Carter. “His in-ring ability is matched only by his leadership and attitude. We are thrilled Kurt is joining the TNA family and we look forward to a long, successful relationship.”

“Being with TNA feels like I found my home,” Kurt Angle commented. “TNA will be the most watched show on cable TV – it’s just a matter of time. Thank you TNA for saving my career, my life and my desire to do what I love.”

TNA also announced it will premiere in primetime on Spike TV starting Thursday, November 16, kicking-off with a two-hour extravaganza from 9:00 – 11:00 PM, ET/PT to celebrate the move. The following Thursday, TNA can be seen in its regularly scheduled timeslot (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT), with encores continuing to telecast on Saturdays (11:00 PM – Midnight, ET/PT).

“We’ve been impressed by TNA’s growth and the acquisition of Kurt Angle today continues to show us that wrestling fans, as well as professional wrestlers, know that TNA is the place to be and now primetime on Spike TV is the place for them to be,” says Kevin Kay, General Manager of Spike TV.

Thanx man for clearing that up

Is it possible Kurt didn't like being on ECW? I don't believe I have heard anything like that but he says TNA helped ressurect his career.

lol, on a funny note, the report i did about the ads on the TNA website, maybe they did that to pay for Kurts salary.

Default More Details On TNA's Move To Primetime and Kurt Angle

More Details On TNA's Move To Primetime and Kurt Angle

Just to clarify, TNA Impact will still only be one hour for the time being. Starting with the 11/16 show, Impact will be moving up two hours and start airing at 9 PM. The 11/16 show will be a special two hour show, but after that it will go back to being one hour. If TNA can prove themselves in the ratings, they'll probably get a two hour show in the future.

It seems as though that Kurt Angle's recent MMA aspirations were actually a smokescreen to swerve people into thinking that he wouldn't be joining TNA. The video clips of him that aired at the end of the No Surrender PPV were shot a few days ago in a Nashville, TN area warehouse. Local wrestlers were used and they had to sign a nondisclosure form to prevent the signing of Kurt Angle from leaking out before the PPV. Also, TNA employees were not informed of the Angle signing until about 15 minutes before it was announced on the PPV.

Due to the enormous amount of buzz created by last night's announcements, an excess amount of web traffic caused the official TNA website to go down a few times. In an effort to combat this, they put up a mere picture of Kurt Angle with no link to the main page to reduce the amount of bandwidth consumed - at least until the traffic died down. The site is currently fine and you access the main page again.

Default More On Kurt Angle, Jarrett's Scarred Back, Christy Sings

More On Kurt Angle, Jarrett's Scarred Back, Christy Sings

Kurt Angle's official website KurtAngleWWE.com has posted up the TNA press release announcing his impending arrival to TNA. Also, he'll probably have to change the domain name to something else soon.

The official TNA website has posted up a backstage video showing off Jeff Jarrett's scarred, welted back following the "Fan's Revenge Match" with Samoa Joe at last night's PPV. Jarrett wore several layers of t-shirts to protect himself from the fans' whips, although it doesn't look like it helped him much. Click here to see the mildly graphic video.

This past week, Christy Hemme was in Nashville, Tennessee to record a single for the upcoming "3rd Degree Burns" TNA music CD, which will feature numerous TNA wrestling themes. Hemme wrote and recorded the song herself. It's called "Society Box" and according to her, "It's dark, hard rock." Hemme also added, "It's about not ever falling into what society wants me to be."

Default Tna Stars Comment On The Signing Of Kurt Angle

TNA STARS COMMENT ON THE SIGNING OF KURT ANGLE
    By Ross Forman

ORLANDO, Fla. - The backstage buzz before, during and after No Surrender was electric, to put it mildly. Wrestlers were asking about the major surprise. Announcers were asking. Even the referees. Not to mention the TNA front-office personnel who made the trek here from TNA’s corporate headquarters in Nashville, Tenn. No one knew for sure what – or who, as it turned out – the announcement would be, but everyone certainly had a guess, or two, or 10, or 20.

TNA Wrestling President Dixie Carter last week promised a major announcement at the end of the pay-per-view, held Sept. 22 at Universal Studios … and boy did she deliver, truly shocking the wrestling industry, from Stamford to Seattle and all points in between

Few moments in pro wrestling history have had the build-up and anticipation as Sunday’s announcement. I was there in Daytona Beach, Fla., in 1997, when Hulk Hogan ultimately was the third member of the nWo and turned his back on WCW and the fans. Well, Kurt Angle joining TNA Wrestling is bigger.

I don’t remember seeing the backstage area for almost any wrestling event so filled and yet, at the same time, so silent as when the Angle announcement was made.

The wrestlers, you see, did not know in advance. Sure, they all wanted to know, and everyone was asking everyone and anyone who they thought might know. But ultimately, when no one truly knew, it was a case of watch-like-the-rest-of-the-world.

The TNA roster was thrilled with the Angle announcement, without a doubt.

    HOMICIDE
    “That’s money.”

    BOBBY ROODE
“It’s huge for the company and the business. One word: huge.”

    KONNAN
“Kurt Angle … cream of the crop.”

    DAVID YOUNG
“Get ready, because here we go. Now the ride really starts.”

    CHRISTIAN CAGE
“He’s probably trying to steal my thunder too, just like Sting. Kurt Angle is an average wrestler. Christian Cage is still the biggest star at TNA.”

    JIM CORNETTE
“Fantastic acquisition of a fantastic talent. He will take TNA to the next level.”

    DON WEST
“Never in a million years did I think that would happen.”

    SHANE DOUGLAS
“It’s always great to have a world-class athlete on the roster. Kurt Angle, a Pittsburgh native, is a tremendous addition to the TNA Wrestling roster.”

    WILDCAT CHRIS HARRIS
“It’s an incredible privilege to be part of this company.”

    ERIC YOUNG
“Frightening and exciting at the same time … is that possible?”

    SIMON DIAMOND
“Reggie Jackson to the New York Yankees. Mark McGwire to the St. Louis Cardinals. Shaquille O’Neal to the Orlando Magic. Kurt Angle to TNA is bigger than all of them.”

    ANDREW THOMAS
“The fan in me is thrilled.”

    A.J. STYLES
“Kurt Angle is one of the most entertaining wrestlers in wrestling history.”

    KAZARIAN
“What an incredible way to end an incredible show.”

    SENSHI
“The game just got a lot more real.”

    JEREMY BORASH
    “Holy @#$%!!!”

I could understand when Kurt Angle got out of his contract for a break, he was broken down injured etc....

Him now going to TNA barely a month (I can't remember when he got out of his contract) after leaving that contract is low!! I've lost a lot of respect for him.
HE loved us so much that HE paid the ultimate sacrifice so that WE wouldn't have to...

I just couldn't beleive it. This is way too perfect. The only thing I liked about WWE was Angle. I haven't watched a wrestling show for probably a year now but I am surely tuning into this weeks TNA. And that is exactly what tNA wanted to do. They have successfully done what WCW did. When WCW signed Hogan all the WWE fans went, "What the fuck? Wow this place is awesome. Hogan is here, and Savage too." Then after they were drawn in, they got to see the wrestling talent.

Yes WCW died, but that was because of bad management and with WCW already failing this leaves TNA to have a better go at it. Kurt will improve the ratings big time.

After I heard I just ran down TNA's roster and thought of all the amazing matches I wanted to see.

    Angle vs. Joe
    Angle vs. Sting
    Angle vs. Petey
    Angle vs. Abyss
    Angle vs. Daniels
    Angle vs. Cage
    Angle vs. Styles

This is huge for TNA. Why have you lost respect for Angle. He left one company for another one. That is it. He made a personal decision and he now says he is a happier man. That makes you angry?

TNA is just doing a special 2 Hour Extravaganza this thursday but after that it is only one hour of primetime.

Big Thanks To NWOOO-Joe and daledaleuk

Hey, maybe he has also been pissed off at the way he has been treated. Did any of you think of that? This move is makeing me watch TNA even more. Plus, think of all the great matches with Kurt. Petey, Joe, Styles, Cage, hell even lower carders. It is a great move

Yes, Nick is on a different side. Got a problem. Bash my opinion
